Drama at Trump’s Golf Course
Earlier today, a disturbed person was found wandering around the woods outside of Trump’s Florida golf course with an AK-47 or AR-15. The news media quickly jumped on the story, creating dramatic headlines on YouTube.
Media Coverage and Viewership
The Fox News Livestream got a million views, but CNN’s livestream only had 668 views. Other networks’ videos had views in the low thousands.
Interest in Real Issues
A two-part video of CNN’s interview with JD Vance, where he admitted to making up a conspiracy theory about Haitian immigrants eating cats and dogs, has 559,000 views. An MSNBC video where George Conway criticizes Trump’s conspiracy-driven campaign has 476,000 views. This is almost double the 276,000 views for the press conference about the man with the assault rifle.
Tired of Trump Drama
It seems like people are getting tired of all the drama that comes with Trump. For nine years, every day has been filled with his tweets, outrageous statements, and tragedies like Covid.
Ignoring Dangerous Incidents
Today, when a disturbed man wandered around Mar-a-Lago with an assault rifle, no one really noticed. There was also no major coverage when similar incidents happened targeting President Joe Biden at the White House in May or earlier in 2023.
Moving On from Trump
Most Americans have tuned out and moved on. We are tired of the drama and want politics to be about dreaming of a better future instead of past grievances.
Less Focus on Trump’s Tweets
As always, today’s stories include Trump’s ridiculous tweet claiming to “never surrender!” Maybe the news media should spend less time covering every tweet Trump makes while sitting on his gold-plated toilet in Mar-a-Lago.
