Kamala Harris Visits Penzeys Spices in Pittsburgh
On Saturday, Kamala Harris visited Penzeys Spices in Pittsburgh. Democratic supporter AKALib wrote about the event in a well-received diary titled “Kamala Harris visits Penzeys Spices in Pittsburgh. Joy erupts.”
Trump’s Overreaction
As expected, Trump had something to say about it. He took to Truth Social and posted:
“Comrade Kamala Harris goes to an ultra Left Wing, Trump Hating, spice shop, which I hear has terrible, overpriced product, and calls for ‘unity.’ As people begin to realize that she is a Marxist, FAR MORE LIBERAL than Crazy Bernie Sanders, or even Elizabeth ‘Pocahontas’ Warren, her poll numbers are beginning to crash. Who are they going to put in next? How about a Biden comeback?”
Trump’s Imaginary Kamala
This Soviet-style Harris exists only in Trump’s imagination and the fever dreams of his supporters. They believe Kamala is both a hard-core Leninist and a politician who changes her views for convenience.
The Socialist Slur
Trump’s socialist slur is nothing new. It’s the same old attack he uses on anyone who disagrees with him. If Kamala had criticized a food retailer as “ultra Right Wing, Harris Hating,” the media would have called out her lack of civility. But Trump gets a pass, no matter how unpresidential his words are.
Penzeys Spices’ Reputation
Trump also attacked Penzeys Spices, calling their products “terrible, overpriced.” However, before Trump’s comments, Penzeys had generally exceptional 5-star Yelp reviews. After Trump’s post, his supporters flooded Yelp with negative reviews, using the same words he did. Yelp had to stop comments to prevent this unfair attack.
Penzeys’ Stance on Republicans
If Trump’s supporters read what Penzeys actually said about Republicans, they would find a company that respects everyone’s right to their own opinions but has issues with the current GOP’s rhetoric.
Penzeys explains:
“The slow decline of the Republican Party over the last half century, and the steep decline/bottom falling out over the last decade.”
They further explain:
“The Republican departure from conservative values and embrace of what, from a distance, looks a whole lot like insanity didn’t happen by chance. All of it has been intelligently crafted with the goal of preserving the position of those who profit from the inhumanity that is at the very roots of pretty much every problem we are facing. From the environment, to racism/discrimination, to health, to saving our democracy at home and growing it abroad, half the time Republicans are intentionally blocking the solution to the problems we face. The other half of the time they are the problem we face.”
Penzeys on MAGA Supporters
Penzeys clarifies that they have no issue with most MAGA supporters as individuals. The problem is who they vote for.
“I actually like and respect most of you guys. Sure, there are a growing number that are there for the racism, but I still believe the majority of you have good hearts that want to help and do the right thing. I know you to be trustworthy, and honest, and funny, and caring, and good souls. The problem isn’t what you are, the problem is what you are now voting to support. You guys have been turned around.”

Trump’s Obsession
Lastly, Trump, who seems incapable of a mature relationship, needs to accept that Biden will no longer be his political opponent. Instead, he has to deal with Kamala Harris, a younger, strong, Black, Indian American woman who is not afraid to challenge him.
