Standing Against Trump in Winslow, Arizona
The effort to oppose Trump becoming King has reached the storied community of Winslow, Arizona. The statue, rumored to look most like Jackson Browne but entitled simply the troubadour, was gracious enough to hold our sign for this photograph.
Importance of Congressional District 2
Winslow is one of the communities in Arizona’s Congressional District 2, which will play a role in control of the U.S. House. Our current representative is the villain Eli Crane, who threw out Speaker Kevin McCarthy with no idea who would replace him.
Eli Crane’s Neglect
Crane, who lives far from the district and rarely visits, can’t be bothered to accept money appropriated to the district, letting it go to other states.
A Chance for Change
The district leans red with a normal candidate, but Crane isn’t close to normal. Doing well in this patch of rural Arizona — which takes up more than half of the state — would help elect Kamala Harris and Ruben Gallego. Jonathan Nez, former president of the Navajo Nation, who now has more money than anyone could have imagined, is working hard to unseat Crane.

Educating About Trump’s Plans
We will be helping to educate people that Trump’s desire to be King — expressed through Supreme Court immunity and the desire to abolish elections — conflicts with Native claims to sovereignty. We will explain that in the massive Project 2025 book Trump’s people show their desire to have Native lands managed by others.
