Taylor Swift’s Instagram Post Boosts Voter Registration
NPR reports that as of 11 a.m. ET today, there have been 306,422 visitors to Vote.gov referred from Taylor Swift’s Instagram post last night endorsing Kamala Harris for president.
This is just through 11 a.m. I’d expect that something close to half a million new voters may register and vote, out of the 280 million followers on Swift’s Instagram account. This is reasonable considering her past success in registering voters (2023, an off year, for example).
Impact on Key States
Given that states like Pennsylvania, Georgia, or North Carolina may come down to 10,000 or 20,000 votes, it’s entirely possible that engaged, registered, early-voting Swifties (Swift specifically recommended this method to her fans) might be THE difference in one or more of these states.
Swifties for Kamala
Finally… a shout-out to TFG for that fake Swifties for Trump meme that helped spur Swift to endorse much earlier this year than in 2020.
