While the WH left open the possibility of participating in other House Judiciary committee hearings, their continued whinging about POTUS* being denied due process continue to ring hollow. Meanwhile the GOP committee membership is expected to continue to clown the proceedings. New attempts to delay the proceedings include trying to call Adam Schiff as a witness without calling Devin Nunes.

The White House informed House Democrats on Sunday that it will not participate in the Judiciary Committee’s first impeachment hearing, excoriating Democrats’ impeachment inquiry as a “baseless” and “partisan” exercise in scathing five-page letter to the panel’s chairman.

Jerry Nadler had asked Trump to indicate by Sunday whether the president himself or a White House attorney would attend Wednesday’s hearing, an offer that Democrats said was an attempt to afford due process to Trump as he faces a likely impeachment vote before the end of the month.

Nadler has also asked Trump to reveal by the end of the week whether he intends to participate in any aspect of the Judiciary Committee’s impeachment proceedings, which are expected to continue into the following week. Notably, Cipollone left open the possibility that the White House would participate in future hearings.

The House Intelligence Committee is expected to vote Tuesday evening to formally approve its report recommending that Trump be removed from office over allegations that he abused the power of his presidency to pressure a foreign leader to investigate his political rivals. The allegation is expected to form the core of any impeachment articles ultimately considered by the House.

Darn that whistle blower identifying all those impeachable offenses that were supported by credible, more closely associated fact-witnesses. And even the GOP witnesses supported the allegations, darn it.

Did anyone actually think the impostor president or his lawyers would show up? Seriously. Their entire defense is that the impeachment hearing is unlawful because there wasn’t a vote to start it & there’s no constitutional requirement for that. Then there was all the stupid stunts trying to derail it, procedural questions, attempted whistleblower outing, storming the Bastille for a pizza party etc. Now they want to harass Adam Schiff- How dare he do his job & chair the committee that rat bastard !! trump can’t show up because he can’t even tell his name without lying. Can you imagine… Read more »

Of coarse he won’t participate in the proceedings because then if he did he would perjur himself right out of office. He knows that, he’s going to stay as far away as he can. I hope that he doesn’t screw up the NATO meeting and alienating us even more than he already has

How else could the committee function?
The Republicans have isolated themselves
to the point , that they condone
(and protect ), Trump’s illegal behavior?
They being extremely partisan , accuse the Democrats of being partisan !
It’s really nuts ! How do they expect to
survive politically?
