The irony of Melania Trump deciding that anti-bullying is her signature issue has never been lost on anybody, considering that she’s married to the Bully in Chief.

Today Melania made a surprise visit to a middle school in Detroit to speak on the issue of children reaching out to others and including them. “I always believe that you need to treat each other with respect and kindness and compassion, but also stay true to yourself. Just listen to your heart, but be yourself.” Remember that line from Game Of Thrones, “Whatever comes before the word ‘but’ is bullshit?” Bearing that in mind, parse through the statement again. “Be yourself” is the real statement and her husband is certainly the poster child for individuality and compulsion running far ahead of impulse control and compassion. If you want an example of double speak, arising out of double think, which is the Through The Looking Glass world in which the Trump administration has us live, read on. CNN:

As Trump embarks on her anti-bullying crusade, she will likely face critics, those who point to her husband, President Donald Trump, as someone who engages in regular name-calling and other tactics that could be perceived as bullying.
This weekend, for example, the President continued to tweet his derogatory nickname for Florida Democratic Rep. Frederica Wilson, calling her “Wacky.” Earlier this month, he mocked Republican Sen. Bob Corker’s height, dubbing him “Liddle Bob Corker.”
So does the first lady feel the need to reconcile her platform on bullying with the behavior of the man she married? Absolutely not, according to Grisham.
“Mrs. Trump is independent and acts independently from her husband. She does what she feels is right, and knows that she has a real opportunity through her role as first lady to have a positive impact on the lives of children. Her only focus is to effect change within our next generation,” she told CNN.

The article also goes on to say that while Donald Trump was reviling the Mayor of San Juan and throwing paper towels, Melania in some purported flare of independence taped a 30 second public service announcement asking for donations — and that’s supposed to show us what? “It’s a yin-and-yang communication strategy. But Grisham said despite the somewhat incongruous nature of their approaches, the President is entirely in his wife’s corner,” CNN says. So, she’s anti-bullying and on record as same, and how does she sleep at night, knowing all this?

As Rod Serling would introduce and conclude this episode:

“Imagine a world where the president of the United States is the worst bully under the sun and his wife takes it upon herself to eliminate bullying in others…. Moral of the story: Don’t worry about the mote in your neighbor’s eye, worry about the beam in your own; or clean up your own (White) house before you worry about the mess at your neighbor’s. Lesson to be learned, in the Twilight Zone.”
