The Washington Post is reporting that four countries–China, Israel, Mexico and the United Arab Emirates–believe they have leverage on Jared Kushner from his failing businesses and his general lack of knowing what is doing:

Officials in at least four countries have privately discussed ways they can manipulate Jared Kushner, the president’s son-in-law and senior adviser, by taking advantage of his complex business arrangements, financial difficulties and lack of foreign policy experience, according to current and former U.S. officials familiar with intelligence reports on the matter.

Among those nations discussing ways to influence Kushner to their advantage were the United Arab Emirates, China, Israel and Mexico, the current and former officials said.

This revelation comes on the heels of the news that Kushner’s security clearance has finally been downgraded. In fact, this appears to be the reason why Kushner has been unable to get permanent security clearance:

It is unclear if any of those countries acted on the discussions, but Kushner’s contacts with certain foreign government officials have raised concerns inside the White House and are a reason he has been unable to obtain a permanent security clearance, the officials said.

Kushner, who has a habit of not reporting foreign contacts he should be reporting, has had recent contacts with foreign officials that he hasn’t reported or worked through the National Security Council. Kushner’s dealing with foreign officials have been the subject daily briefings of National Security Advisor H. R. McMaster. All this is probably why Kelly finally decided to downgrade Kushner’s security clearance.

Now it may be that Kushner is just naive (read: stupid), but the fact that 4 countries, including ones we call our allies, believe they have a stooge in Kushner who they can manipulate is deeply embarrassing for this country. The Trump administration is a joke, and the whole world knows it.
