It always had to come to this. It was almost pre-ordained. Trump campaigned on, and rode into Washington DC on a promise. And he spent the next four years trying to fulfill that promise. And now that it’s over, Trump is finally going to fulfill that promise, only not quite in the way that the Republican party thought he would.
Donald Trump rode into Washington DC on a slogan, and a well worn one at that. Trump ran for President as a rank, non political outsider, and promised to upend the federal government. I’ll be 64 in February, where have I heard that before? Oh yeah, in the vulnerable vernacular of the late 60’s and early 70’s, Trump promised to burn that motherfucker down! And to be honest, that’s exactly what he tried to do.
And that’s exactly what Donald Trump went to Washington to try to do, or as his idiot sidekick Steve Bannon would put it, he wanted to deconstruct the federal government. Four dollar words, same effect, burn the motherfucker down. But the problem is that Trump is dirt stupid. Trump spent his whole life running a failing mom and pop bodega of a real estate empire, where everything revolved around him. Trump was far too ignorant to understand that the federal government was far too large, and far to Byzantine , for him naming a handful of soulless sycophants to head the agencies to bring the whole thing crashing to the ground.
Which is a major bummer for Trump. But, being vindictive by nature, Trump is running out of time with enough power to bring something collapsing at his feet in flaming ruins. And so, Trump is turning to the bird already in his hand.
The New York Times is reporting that Trump in the last 50 days is becoming eerily similar to Mad King George. He seldom comes down for work, empties his schedule of any meetings not having to do with overturning the election, and becomes angry, and even furious, as he puts together an enemies list upon to exact revenge before he loses power.
Which is a problem for the GOP. After all, it doesn’t do Trump any good to put pesky Democrats on his list, they could give a fat rats ass about his petty grievances. The NYT reported that Trump is busy working on an enemies list of GOP Governors, Senators, and state officials who didn’t back his attempts to overturn the election results with sufficient enthusiasm.
Trump is going to burn the entire Republican Party down, because, of course he is. He ran as a Republican party candidate in 2016 for President, but by the time that the primaries had ended, he had already completed a hostile takeover of the existing GOP power structure. Even the soulless sycophants at FUX News have occasionally slipped up and referred to the GOP as the party of Trump.
Make no doubt about it my friends. An actual, independent Republican party is a direct threat to Donald Trump. In 44 days, no matter how you look at it, Trump’s public presence in the media is going to be greatly reduced. Trump will lose all access to his earned media as President of the United States, and even FUX News is going to have to start weaning their slavish coverage of him. Trump will find ways to stay relevant, and in the media, but not the blanket coverage that he is used to.
So, an independent, vibrant Republican party is a direct threat to him, since they can minimize him. And so, already having every single organism of the GOP already under his control, it is only natural that Trump will put the hammer down, announce an enemies list to be punished for their lack of fealty, Trump is striking now, while the iron is still white hot, especially with the two Georgia Senate seats in the balance, to ensure that even when he’s gone from the White House, he is still the dominant force in GOP politics. See his teasing the possibility of leaving the White House at 12 noon on inauguration day to take Air Force One on one final journey to Florida, in order to hold a MAGA rally to officially introduce his run for 2024.
Starting with the disgustingly toadying Reince Priebus as the Chair of the RNC, and continuing on through the useless Ronna Romney McDaniel, the RNC sold their soul to the Trump devil. And, after only 4 years, you honestly think that Trump is suddenly going to turn around and do a Bush, or a Clinton, or a Reagan, or an Obama, and turn control of the party back to the party again, you are clinically insane. The party of Trump is his legacy, and his future, and he sure as shit isn’t going to give it back now, it’s his. And as for the RNC? He’ll be more than happy to burn that motherfucker down.
