Donald Trump flew to Florida this morning for an ostensible health care event that turned out to be a standard Trump campaign rally, with wild, ranting accusations and explicit attacks on his campaign opponents. This, just after Trump once again asked Ukraine, and China, to investigate “the Bidens.”
There’s not much that can be parsed out of many of Trump’s rants, but the criminal in chief is in a particularly banana-republic mood this week. You know what we need around here, says Dear Leader, man of the Golden Toilets and Tweeter of Infinite Realities? We need our own state news network, because the free press version is just too mean.
But you know what is so bad for our country? When CNN, so often I go to a foreign country, I go to a country I meet leaders, and he said ‘Why do they hate your country so much?’ I said who. You know CNN outside of the United States is much more important than it is in the United States. And a lot of what you see here is broadcast throughout the world. And we used to have Radio Free, like I think Radio Free Europe, Voice of America, we did that to build up our country. And, uh, that’s not working out too well. But CNN is a voice that really seems to be the voice out there, and it’s a terrible thing for our country, and we ought to start our own network and put some real news out there because [cheering, applause] they are so bad for our country. […]We are, we are looking at that, we should do something about it, too.
Ah yes, the old I am going to make my own international news network, one with blackjack and hookers play.
Trump could do it himself, of course, if he wasn’t a cheap con artist whose wealth is mostly illusory or outright fictional. There’s nothing stopping Uday or Qusay Trump from launching an “independent” Trump News Network that would bleat out only the things Dear Leader wants to hear. No dissenting commentary, like on CNN. No irritating “straight news” programs with mean, cruel anchors like those on Fox. Just Lou Dobbs and Sean Hannity, doing 12-hour shifts each, blaming Democrats for the things he blurts, clearing the MAGAbomber’s good name, or whatever Dear Leader has stuck in his craw between bathroom breaks.
It certainly is strange that Trump has managed to discover, by himself, every hallmark policy of the world’s authoritarian regimes. It’s certainly not because he studied up on them; he just happens to really and truly believe that he is the Chosen One, the blubbering nincompoop that America has been building to all this time.
