One of the biggest social occasions of the year nationally is Super Bowl Sunday. Parties are taking place everywhere from tailgates to mansions. It’s been a tradition for the past ten years for the POTUS go kick off the festivities with an interview, but naturally this particular POTUS has dispensed with this tradition — probably because he’s worried about being booed, or laughed at for not knowing the words to the Star Spangled Banner.
Donald forgoing a presidential interview before the Super Bowl marks the first time in a decade that America has gone without one. He did, however, release a statement hours before the New England Patriots and Philadelphia Eagles face off, that included the theme of standing for the National Anthem. “Though many of our Nation’s service members are unable to be home with family and friends to enjoy this evening’s American tradition, they are always in our thoughts and prayers,” the statement said. “We owe these heroes the greatest respect for defending our liberty and our American way of life. Their sacrifice is stitched into each star and every stripe of our Star-Spangled Banner. We hold them in our hearts and thank them for our freedom as we proudly stand for the National Anthem.”
In addition to Trump having to keep a low profile and forego the game, his hostess, Melania, has made it clear that she’s not exactly thrilled with him. A reporter caught Melania sailing past a waiting Trump, who then awkwardly waved to the cameras, knowing once more, the Slovenian Sphinx had put him down publicly.

There are those who say Melania is done with the Donald. Most likely she’s been done for some time and has just decided not to worry about keeping up appearances.
