Flip…Flop…Flip…Flop…

And here’s a partial score, Stanford 29   George Carlin Ahhh. It seems like only yesterday that Emperor Gluteus Maximus was sitting around, pissing and moaning that testing for the coronavirus was overrated. That’s what he said. His sane and logical reasoning was that if we weren’t doing as much testing, there wouldn’t be so many cases. Yes, he actually said that too. Oh, shit! It turns out that it was only yesterday when he said that. I’m confused because today he said that the incredibly high number of coronavirus cases in the United States His flavor of the day contention for today was that if we only tested 1 million people instead of 134 million people, we wouldn’t have so many cases. Therefore, our insane rate of infection and sky high death total are actually a badge of honor for the superiority of our testing. Am I the only one whose head is spinning? Let’s quickly recap. It was only a couple of weeks ago that Trump was bragging from behind the podium in the White House briefing room that we were doing more testing per capita than any other country on earth. Not only was it demonstrably false, but it served no particular positive purpose for him to say it, since our numbers were so out of orbit. Then he said that testing was overrated, and if we weren’t testing so much, we wouldn’t have so many cases. And now, he flops again to state that our insane infection numbers are a credit to out outstanding testing, which in simple fact has been nothing short of criminally pathetic. All of these positions share two things in common. One, they’re all pure, unadulterated bullshit, and two, they’re mathematically impossible. Testing is not the question or issue here, math and accuracy are. If you have 2 million people with the coronavirus, and you test 10 people who come up negative, you still have 2 million people with the coronavirus, you just don’t know it yet. And if you have 2 million people with coronavirus, test 40 million people, and come up with 2 million active cases, all that means is that your testing was accurate. The cases are there, whether or not they’re counted in testing before they start showing up at the hospitals to die! The reason this is important is a political one, and it’s one of the reasons that Trump is in such deep shit in his reelection campaign. In my Obamagate! article, I noted that one of Trump’s problems was that he was bleeding support among American’s 65 and older, which is one of the GOP’s most dependable core constituencies. This is true. In 2016, Trump beat Hillary Clinton among seniors 52-47%. The latest national polls show Biden leading Trump among seniors 52-45%. Basically Biden has flipped one of the most reliable GOP voting blocks. The reason this is so important is this. As a card carrying old fart, I know that we frost tops know a couple of things. For starters, I know we vote at a higher percentage than any other demographic, and the politicians know that too. Second, we know that we’re gonna die sooner than most of the rest of you. And third, we all know our mathematics. That’s because the vast majority of us went to public schools back when they were fully funded, and […]

About this “Widespread Testing” Push?

Testing, TESTING, TESTING! Good Lord, I haven’t seen this much worry, angst, and despair over testing since my freakin’ SAT’s.There is obviously a perfectly good reason for all of this sturm und drang, but unfortunately, it isn’t going to help. This is nothing new. This concern and outrage about widespread public testing for the coronavirus has been a critical part of the national healthcare conversation since the day that the virus broke it’s foothold in Washington state, and established a new one in New York. And especially now, with various morons like Brian Kemp starting to reopen non essential businesses while the virus rages on unabated in their states, testing becomes even more important. But not to worry. According to El Pendejo Presidente, there’s plenty to go around. Hell, according to Trump, the family pet can get tested if you can  afford the vet charge. I’m sorry about this, I really am. I don’t like walking in here all the time with this pin, any more than all those balloons like seeing me coming. Sadly, I already know when widespread public testing for the coronavirus will be available, and you’re not going to like it. Widespread public testing will begin in late February or early March of 2021. And that’s only if Joe Biden is elected President. Jesus, Mary, and Joseph, we’re talking about Donald fucking Trump here! The most self centered, least empathetic alleged human being on the planet. This is a man who called the virus a Democratic hoax at a mass rally while the virus spread. But all you really have to remember to know I’m right is that this is the same soulless, shit-for-brains who wanted to leave a cruise ship stranded outside the three mile limit in San Francisco so that the 15 confirmed sick people on board couldn’t double the infection total in the country! You remember what he said? He said, I like the numbers right where they are. Never forget the fact that this is nothing but a numbers game for Trump, and it’s all about his ego. Every day, Brian Williams of MSNBC begins the noon Pacific time hour with the following statement, Good afternoon, it’s 3 o’clock on the East coast, 12 noon in the Pacific time zone, and here are the facts as we know them. At this hour, there are such-and-such many cases of the coronavirus confirmed in the United States, and such-and-such a number of confirmed deaths. But please keep in mind that we really have no idea of how many Americans are infected, since only 1.5% of the population has been tested. That bold type sentence is the keystone to the entire issue right there. Because of Trump’s pathetically bungled response, we have no idea how many people are actually infected, and that’s exactly the way Trump wants it! As bad as the reported numbers are, the true total as much worse. And as the reported number continues to grow, the true, unreported total will grow exponentially. And that’s just ducky for Trump. As long as the reported numbers are low enough, Trump can continue to pull numbers out of his fat, orange ass to show how magnificent his response has been. But if the true numbers of this national catastrophe ever become known, Trump will be exposed for the pathetic failure that he truly is. And since that cannot be tolerated, Trump […]
