First off, Tucker Carlson is a gibbering idiot. This is a fact. What are not facts are the things Carlson spews five nights a week on Fox News. Even Fox News said so, in defending Carlson and itself from a lawsuit accusing Carlson of slander. Carlson didn’t commit slander, the Fox lawyers argued, because no one […]
Remember the New York Post story that shoved a bunch of emails in our faces and told us that Joe and Hunter Biden were irredeemably corrupt? Didn’t that happen, like, six months ago? No, it happened five days ago. And the story has already fallen to shit. (I’m aware it’s fallen even MORE to shit in […]
The Hunter Biden “Scandal” That Wasn’t, Brought to You by Rudy Giuliani, Steve Bannon, and the New York Post
The Trump administration/re-election campaign (there is no significant difference between the two) and theiir assorted minions, sycophants and hangers-on are desperate. The possibility of a Biden landslide in three weeks is growing. The Justice Department attempts to produce an “October surprise” regarding what Trump tried to brand as “Obamagate” haven’t found shit. So, courtesy of Rudy […]
Well well well. After writing about three articles over two days about how Trump and Mitch McConnell are oh so simpatico over this upcoming trial in the senate, we now have word that … maybe not so much. Trump will find a way to have his way. That is okay, Mitch. One can only work under Trump for so long, maybe fifteen minutes, tops, before finding himself utterly cursing the fates that brought the two together. It would seem that our two heroes of the right have reached an impasse over who to call as witnesses in Trump’s defense in the senate. You know what Trump wants. He wants the shitshow extravaganza to end all trials, like literally, the type that would have most of the U.S. clamoring to never have a trial again, only a thumb up or down by Trump. Trump wants a trial that will punish others as much as he feels punished. He feels very very punished for being so perfect. Details out of today’s New York Times: Trump would like to see former Vice President Joe Bidens’ son Hunter called to testify along with the whistleblower whose report led to the impeachment inquiry. Additionally, the president wants to House Intelligence Committee chair Rep. Adam Schiff (D-CA) and House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) to take the stand. Sorry, but that is just so gd damned Trump, I almost get misty over its perfection. Forget phone calls, this is the perfect call. Nancy Pelosi could not have less to do with a trial in which Trump fights for his presidency. Yet he wants her there, answering questions about … not sure, we’ll figure out “about what!” later. He just knows he’s extremely pissed off at Nancy Pelosi and he’s going to show her who’s boss, that’s for damn sure. Hunter Biden? Hunter Biden took a job for which he wasn’t qualified. It was stupid and corrupt, just like all rich people who get jobs on boards to have their name on the board. But, it was not, and still isn’t, against the law. Not for nothing, but it’s also wholly irrelevant. Hunter Biden could’ve taken an illegal job in rhe First Order, fighting Rea with a pre-owned light saber, and it would be irrelevant if Trump broke the law while investigating Biden. So, what is Hunter supposed to testify about? Shup up!! Only Trump, and I mean only Trump, could get caught abusing the power of his office, attempting to set up an extortion scheme in which he tried so hard to make Joe Biden look bad, and then when Trump goes on trial for that crime, wants to call Hunter Biden in order to make Joe Biden look bad! McConnell – being evil and un-American, but not being entirely stupid, and realizing that there will be a life after the trial, one way or another – doesn’t want any of this shit. “The McConnell camp worries that could open a ‘Pandora’s box,’ as one person close to the senator said, clearing the way for other witnesses and lines of questioning that could reflect poorly on the president.” You better believe it could. Ask anyone that has evert run a trial of any type. The one variable everyone fears is what any one witness may say that turns the […]
Unfit To Lead
Unbelievable, and yet all-too believable. Let’s be very clear. Trump will use the entire might of the United States to hold hostage any nation he chooses, all to entice that nation into harming Trump’s political opponents. The China reference that Trump made on the South Lawn today was not the first time that Trump talked Biden with Chinese President Xi. From CNN: During a phone call with Xi on June 18, Trump raised Biden’s political prospects as well as those of Sen. Elizabeth Warren, who by then had started rising in the polls, according to two people familiar with the discussion. In that call, Trump also told Xi he would remain quiet on Hong Kong protests as trade talks progressed. The White House record of that call was later stored in the highly secured electronic system used to house a now-infamous phone call with Ukraine’s President and which helped spark a whistleblower complaint that’s led Democrats to open an impeachment inquiry into Trump. That “leak” from the White House is oddly worded. Trump discussed “Biden’s political ‘prospects,’ as well as Elizabeth Warren.” “Political prospects” can only be taken to mean whether or not Biden could win the election, how much support could he garner, or whether he was a flawed candidate. Why would the president talk Biden’s “political prospects” with a foreign leader? But that isn’t the really odd part in my mind. The odd part is that right after the leakers noted that Trump discussed Trump’s two opponents’ “political prospects,” Trump promised to “remain quiet on Hong Kong.” Why was that leaked in that manner? Are we to infer that within the discussion about “Biden’s political prospects,” President Xi made some assurance to Trump, in exchange for which Trump would “remain quiet on Hong Kong”? Did they do each other “favors”? We don’t know. We do not know, in part, because the conversation made its way to the ultra secret “codeword clearance” server, normally reserved for the most sensitive national intelligence issues. And then there was today, when, as we noted earlier, Trump flat asked for a Chinese “favor” in broad daylight in front of reporters. Is Trump preparing the nation for hearing that Trump had already asked for an investigation? Because as of today, we’re hearing more and more that Trump believes he has something with the China-Biden angle: Privately, Trump has been telling allies over the past week he believes Hunter Biden’s activities in China to be potentially more damaging than his business in Ukraine. “That’s not the best one. The best one was China,” Trump said at a private event in New York last week after going on a screed about the unfounded claims involving the Bidens and Ukraine. China is the new Ukraine. And Trump made the “ask” right out in the open. We cannot wait much longer to remove this man from office. He is selling the foreign policy of the United States to the highest bidder, a bidder willing to fabricate evidence on Trump’s political rival. It is time for Republicans to turn on this man. After all, as I just asked on Twitter, what makes Republicans think that Trump hasn’t collected dirt on them, and would use it if needed, down the road? There are some, McConnell and Graham, whom one could […]
Well, apparently all one needed to do was speak to the main man involved. Interestingly enough, Rudy Giuliani did speak to the main man involved, and did not like the answer he got. That explains Trump’s phone call and request for a “favor,” in which Trump looked for “alternative” facts regarding the Bidens. According to the L.A. Times, the prosecutor at issue, Yuri Lutsenko, told Giuliani less than a month ago he would be happy to help real law-enforcement, but he knew of no crime committed by the Bidens. Lutsenko stated that if there were to be an investigation, it should be done between law enforcement agencies, and not between “presidents.” Ukraine’s former top law enforcement official says he repeatedly rebuffed President Trump’s personal lawyer’s demands to investigate Joe Biden and his son, insisting he had seen no evidence of wrongdoing that he could pursue despite Trump’s allegations. In an interview, Yuri Lutsenko said while he was Ukraine prosecutor general he told Rudolph Giuliani that he would be happy to cooperate if the FBI or other U.S. authorities began their own investigation of the former vice president and his son Hunter but insisted they had not broken any Ukrainian laws to his knowledge. Huh, I’ll be damned. A politician – attorney general-type with some integrity who insists upon following the law? No wonder Trump had to lean on the president of the nation. Lutsenko, who was fired as prosecutor general last month, said he had urged Giuliani to launch a U.S. inquiry and go to court if he had any evidence but not to use Ukraine to conduct a political vendetta that could affect the U.S. election. “I said, ‘Let’s put this through prosecutors, not through presidents,’ ” Lutsenko told The Times. I guess that is precisely what made this man the western world’s choice to lead Ukrainian prosecutions against corruption. Not even pressure from the United States could make the man budge. In case you are asked at work, or confronted by a MAGA-head neighbor, the facts as to the Ukrainian prosecutor story are straightforward. Names and specific dates are omitted here in the interest of extreme brevity and clarity. Pre 2014, Ukraine was the wild-west, ripe for corruption around every corner. The “prosecutor” at the time looked the other way because – the story goes – that same prosecutor was in on the corruption. The entire world – basically – insisted that aid to the Ukraine hinged upon the nation cleaning up the bribery. Vice President Biden advocated on behalf of the position of the United States’ government, and most governments, that Ukraine should fire the prosecutor. Ukraine fired the prosecutor and put in place a man who couldn’t be corrupted and did investigate corruption. Hunter Biden was asked to join the board of a Ukrainian gas company. The non-corruptible prosecutor looked into the arrangement and found nothing illegal. The end. Apparently this is the story that Mr. Lutsenko wished to communicate to Rudy Giuliani, but he also left open the possibility that perhaps there were facts he did not know, and please send real law enforcement, like the FBI, and the matter could be discussed. Interestingly enough, the fact that neither Trump nor Rudy Giuliani asked the FBI to investigate any of this is the giant “tell” in the matter. Trump […]

“Trump speaks in code …” Michael Cohen Lest anyone worry that Trump mostly “inferred” via code, that he would hold up the $250 million in aid unless Ukraine investigated Hunter Biden, thus making “proof” difficult, we now hear via MSNBC and the Wall Street Journal that Trump brought up the need to investigate the Biden family eight times during a single phone call: Trump urged Ukraine president eight times during call to investigate Joe Biden's son, report says https://t.co/LKmgpLvYP3 — Muckmaker™ (@RealMuckmaker) September 20, 2019 That isn’t so much “code” as it is a kidnapper screaming into a telephone. There is another “proof” consideration here, right Chris Hayes? “Eight times” seems oddly specific. You’d have to a transcript or detailed notes of the call to be able to same confidently. Right? — Chris Hayes (@chrislhayes) September 20, 2019 The reason “proof” matters, a lot, is we recall the Mueller investigation declining to prosecute Russian collusion because Mueller had difficulty proving corrupt intent. But, now, we have Trump bringing up – eight times – prosecuting/investigating the son of his political enemy, with a $250 million dollar gun to the Ukraine’s head. The transcripts would lay out a quid pro quo so clear, so compelling, that it dispels the need prove Trump’s state of mind, his corrupt intent. It’s right there on paper, eight times. Moreover, we know this without even seeing the transcripts, the two agendas are so tightly intertwined. The exact wording is almost irrelevant at this point. Donald Trump solicitated a bribe. He was conspiring with a foreign leader to prosecute – wrongly – an American who just happens to be the son of Trump’s strongest political rival. If this doesn’t result in impeachment and/or prosecution at the end of Trump’s presidency, nothing ever will. This is not “This Weeks Scandal.” This is on another level. **** Peace, y’all Jason email@example.com, and on Twitter @MiciakZoom
