Fox and Friends Reduced to Coaching Trump on Air: “Don’t Tweet!”

And so we begin week two of testimony into the possible impeachment of Donald Trump. Two witnesses are scheduled to testify this morning, Lt. Col. Alex Vindman, and Jennifer Williams, an aide to VP Mike Pence. Getting out in front of the testimony, the folks on Fox and Friends this morning coached-up their favorite impeachee, Donald Trump, telling him that he had far better things to do with his time than to watch and tweet: Rawstory: “The president should just ignore this whole thing,” said co-host Brian Kilmeade. “Don’t tweet during it, don’t get outraged over it. It ticks you off.” Notice how Kilmeade starts talking in third person, “the president should …” and then something in Kilmeade’s baby brain says “screw it,” and drops the faux third-person dialogue and goes straight to “don’t get outraged .. it ticks YOU off.” He knows he is speaking directly to Donald Trump, and apparently someone has to tell Trump it’s best to not commit felonies while being investigated for felonies and maybe Trump will listen to the magic talking people on TV over his staff? Something like that. Kilmeade also saw fit to add that Trump must also be an extremely busy man. He must be, right? And therefore how could Trump possibly have time to follow the hearings? “There’s so much to do,” he added. “Just let these guys, like (Rep.) Doug Collins and company, fight (it) out and keep it on the straight and narrow, from a Republican perspective.” Please, sir, don’t make an ass out of yourself and commit another crime!! Please, please, please, throw your phone into the White House pool! Perhaps Fox and Friends really fears Trump tweeting during the hearings because Trump seems to have special contempt for women who dare to cross him. Trump has already tweeted out an attack on Jennifer Williams, who will be the second woman to testify against him in the proceedings thus far: “Tell Jennifer Williams, whoever that is, to read BOTH transcripts of the presidential calls, & see the just released ststement [sic] from Ukraine,” Trump tweeted. “Then she should meet with the other Never Trumpers, who I don’t know & mostly never even heard of, & work out a better presidential attack!” Trump had not made such a direct attack against Taylor or Kent. To be sure, the crew at Fox has been despicable in its smear of Lt. Col. Vindman, implying that he is still a Ukrainian sympathizer, so perhaps Williams hasn’t been maligned just because she is a woman. It is hard to tell. What is easy to see is that today will be a pivotal day in Trump’s administration, as Republicans go to the mat attempting to destroy Vindman and Williams’ credibility. We will hear more about “snooze fests” and that things are so “complicated.” Republicans on the committee will do near anything, kick, yell, laugh, rather than sit and listen respectfully, evaluating the evidence and contemplate what it all means. It is day three in public impeachment testimony. We will be here throughout, with updates and breaking side news. **** Peace, y’all Jason jmiciak@yahoo.com and on Twitter @MiciakZoom
