Lady Karma is a tough old broad and she just meted out a piece of justice so poetic that if you wrote about it in a novel, you would be laughed at, because it would seem contrived. But the truth is stranger than fiction, and in the Era of Trump, it’s stranger than science fiction. You remember a few days ago former Love Connection host Chuck Woolery tweeted that coronavirus was a hoax designed to destroy Donald Trump? And Trump happily retweeted it? The tweet is gone but here’s what it said. “The most outrageous lies are the ones about Covid 19. Everyone is lying. The CDC, Media, Democrats, our Doctors, not all but most, that we are told to trust. I think it’s all about the election and keeping the economy from coming back, which is about the election. I’m sick of it.” Well, guess what? Woolery’s son has the coronavirus and Woolery has withdrawn from Twitter, tail between legs. The Hill: “To further clarify and add perspective, Covid-19 is real and it is here. My son tested positive for the virus, and I feel for of those suffering and especially for those who have lost loved ones,” Woolery tweeted before his account disappeared. The message comes after Woolery tweeted Monday denouncing “outrageous lies” being told about the coronavirus, comments that Trump retweeted to his more than 83 million followers. Frankly, I tip my hat to Woolery for at least admitting he was wrong and withdrawing. At least he is able to feel shame. Not like Trump, who said this to a CBS reporter who asked about the retweet and asked who people should believe, Trump or medical professionals. “I didn’t make a comment,” Trump responded. “I reposted a tweet that a lot of people feel. But all I am doing is making a comment. I’m just putting somebody’s voice out there. There are many voices. There are many people that think we shouldn’t do this kind of testing, because all we do, it’s a trap.” There’s your snack of word salad gibberish, which is all that the titular commander in chief can cobble together these days. Did you catch the latest Rose Garden press conference, where Trump said Joe Biden was going to outlaw windows? Seriously, he said that. Something about Green Energy and Biden working with AOC, conflates to working in a cold office and your windows won’t work — or something. Listen, if you can translate Trump speak, there are jobs for you. Go up to any media outlet and say that you understand WTF Donald Trump is talking about and you’ll get an audience, believe me. Now the thought I want to end on may sound nasty, but I’ll risk it. And that is: Woolery saw this all as a game, until it affected him personally. There are so many idiots out there now, who think exactly the same way. It’s fun to call the virus a hoax and become infuriated when asked to put on a mask, and kick and scream and say it’s all a plot against the Great Orange One. But when it’s you, or one of yours who take ill with COVID-19, then the dialogue changes dramatically. Don’t get me wrong. I am not happy this happened to Chuck Woolery. I feel sorry for the […]
Fools of a feather flock together. Game show host Chuck Woolery is spreading conspiracy theory to help Donald Trump and Trump happily retweeted it to his flock. The most outrageous lies are the ones about Covid 19. Everyone is lying. The CDC, Media, Democrats, our Doctors, not all but most ,that we are told to trust. I think it's all about the election and keeping the economy from coming back, which is about the election. I'm sick of it. — Chuck Woolery (@chuckwoolery) July 13, 2020 my brother in law died From Covid. My daughter in law works in a Covid unit. You’re a fucking idiot. There’s a reason you’ve accomplished nothing in your life than be a third tier game show host. The reason? Go back to the first sentence of this paragraph, the answer is there. — Kurt Eichenwald (@kurteichenwald) July 13, 2020 Hi Chuck, ER doc here, We’re not lying. It’s actually really horrible to see people die from COVID19. And it’s not about the election. It’s actually still about the dying thing. And it’s preventable. ps the economy only comes back when we manage COVID. pss I’m also sick of it https://t.co/vg38luygBR — Craig Spencer MD MPH (@Craig_A_Spencer) July 13, 2020 I worked in a COVID field hospital in NYC. This man is a fucking idiot. https://t.co/xvj4ownMPc — Fred Wellman (@FPWellman) July 13, 2020 Ah yes, the old "Literally everyone that is typically educated and trustworthy is lying and part of a conspiracy but I know the real truth even though I'm not noteworthy in any capacity!" play… — Kirby Pfenning (@KirbyPfenning) July 13, 2020 Wow wouldn’t it be great if this were a fake conspiracy of 100s of thousands, if not millions of health care workers and scientists and sick folks and dead people to hurt Trump rather than…hear me out…a virus ???? https://t.co/zcsdsiyiHP https://t.co/pW9yWpu7kh — Emily Deans MD (@evolutionarypsy) July 13, 2020 It’s interesting what makes each of us sick. For the people I know it’s often #COVID19 itself not the doctors teaching people how to deal with this new reality. But you keep doing you, Chuck. https://t.co/QqhQm4pp2G — Dara Kass, MD (@darakass) July 13, 2020 What scares me is the feeling these people give me. I really want to hurt them, and I do not want that feeling! I know I never would but it scares me people from a democracy can be so fucking ignorant and so lazy. It takes FIVE MINUTES to check the validity and see the real world — Morten Bulskov (@mbulskov) July 13, 2020 @chuckwoolery yeah man COVID is all lies. You should totally record a few shows at hospitals in Florida and S Carolina. They should be videos to show your audience what bullshit it is! Blow it wide open with no Mask! You have the stones to do it right? Darwin is ok with it???? — JT (@JtTaylorwj) July 13, 2020 The Centers for Disease Control are lying. The scientists are lying. The doctors are lying. The experts are lying. EVERYONE IS LYING! But the hasbeen 80-year-old Love Connection guy? Yeah, HE knows what's going on. You should totally listen to him. https://t.co/fISlv6oara — Stonekettle (@Stonekettle) July 13, 2020 I guess it’s a question of whether America wants to believe that game show hosts are imbued […]

Sometimes people in Washington get it plain wrong!
If conservatives support police killing citizens without justification, climate denial, fact denial, science denial, racist and misogynistic behavior, or a litany of other absurd points of view about numerous important issues, we call them out.
