Bannon Twitter Account Suspended for Advocating Beheading FBI Director and White House Pandemic Advisor

While the rest of us wait for Biden’s victory to be made official, Steve Bannon fantasized about the glories of a second term of Trump autocracy, chaos and filth. In the process, he got the current episode of his YouTube show blocked and his ass banned from Twitter. Why? Because he fantasized about having pandemic […]

WH Preparing List of FBI Director Candidates. Is Trump Preparing To Fire Christopher Wray?

Firing James Comey was the stupidest thing that Donald Trump did up to that point, and history will probably remember it as one of the stupidest things he ever did, period. However, he looks to have learned nothing from the experience and word is that he’s looking to fire Christopher Wray for saying the obvious, […]

Christopher Wray Warns Congress Of ‘Very Active’ Russian Efforts To Derail 2020 Election 46 Days Out

FBI Director Christopher Wray told members of the House Homeland Security Committee Thursday that it is, “the intelligence community’s consensus that Russia continues to try to influence our elections, primarily through what we would call malign foreign influence.” “But we certainly have seen very active, very active efforts by the Russians to influence our election in […]

Trump Wants To Fire Christopher Wray But Doesn’t Want ‘To Kick Hornet’s Nest’ So Close To Election

Donald Trump is not happy with FBI Director Christopher Wray because he hasn’t turned out to be the yes man Trump had hoped for. Wray hasn’t sided with Trump against James Comey and he didn’t pick up the torch for Carter Page and the alleged malfeasance in his FISA case. Axios reports Trump “has never felt like Wray was his guy” and does not trust him to “change the culture” of the FBI. So Wray is just one more thorn in Trump’s side, made worse by the fact that Trump can’t do anything about it. Trump was especially angered by what he views as Wray’s reluctance to publicly criticize actions taken by Comey and by Wray’s relatively muted reaction to the FBI’s misconduct in seeking the surveillance of Trump campaign associate Carter Page. What’s new: Recent revelations in the case of Trump’s former national security adviser, Michael Flynn, have heightened discontent with Wray in Trump’s inner circle. Figures close to Trump tell him that Wray cannot be trusted to root out what they view as “corruption” at the highest levels of the FBI. While interviewing Trump on his eponymous podcast on Friday, pro-Trump commentator Dan Bongino said he doesn’t “have a lot of faith” in Wray and asked the president if he trusts Wray to “enact reforms to ensure innocent Americans are not targeted again.” Trump may be unhappy with Wray but he doesn’t have a magic spell with which to fix the situation. First, he doesn’t need the bad optics of getting rid of yet a second FBI director in three years, and second, if he decided to go ahead and take the plunge and fire him, he’s got nobody on board that would pass muster with the Senate in a confirmation process. It looks like Trump will just have to bite the bullet.

Trump Lashes Out At Christopher Wray Over Inspector General Report

FBI Director Christopher Wray went on record saying that he did not think that the FBI unfairly targeted the Trump campaign and furthermore, Wray said that Donald Trump calling FBI agents part of “the deep state,” is “an affront to them.” “I think it’s important that the inspector general found that, in this particular instance, the investigation was opened with appropriate predication and authorization,” he said. With respect to the Ukraine conspiracy theory, Wray answered: “We have no information that indicates that Ukraine interfered with the 2016 presidential election. As far as the [2020] election itself goes, we think Russia represents the most significant threat.” In response to that, Trump berated Wray. “I don’t know what report [Wray] was reading, but it sure wasn’t the one given to me,” Trump tweeted. “With that kind of attitude, he will never be able to fix the FBI, which is badly broken despite having some of the greatest men & women working there!” In the black and white child world of Donald Trump, you’re for him or against him, and since Wray is not rallying to Trump’s side and jumping on the CT train, he’s apparently against him — although that’s nothing new. Washington Post: — This is not the first time Trump has criticized Wray. This spring, the director testified that any campaign should alert the FBI if foreign agents reach out offering dirt on their political opponents. “My view is that, if any public official or member of any campaign is contacted by any nation-state or anybody acting on behalf of a nation-state about influencing or interfering with our election, then that is something that the FBI would want to know about,” Wray testified. Asked about this statement in June, Trump replied, “The FBI director is wrong.” The president insisted that “there isn’t anything wrong” with accepting “oppo research” from foreign powers. — Wray has also previously dismissed Trump’s attacks on the FBI as “noise.” At a Senate Intelligence Committee hearing in February, Wray was asked about the president’s criticisms of the FBI. “There’s no shortage of opinions about our agency, just like every other agency up here — and just like the Congress,” Wray responded. “I’d encourage our folks not to get too hung up on what I consider to be the noise on TV and in social media.” Last year, soon after taking the job, Wray privately warned the White House against releasing that memo by Rep. Devin Nunes (R-Calif.), who was then the chairman of the House Intelligence Committee. When Trump overruled him, Wray signed off on a statement from the FBI that said: “We have grave concerns about material omissions of fact that fundamentally impact the memo’s accuracy.” Trump is meeting with Sergei Lavrov today, the same foreign minister he met with the day he bopped James Comey. Just saying.
