Spouse of Former Trump House-Staff Named EPA Official

You're Hired.

The Trump Administration took the United States deeper into banana-republica’n government when  EPA’s Region 2 office hired one Steve Kopec, as a special assistant.

Politico notes that Mr. Kopec came from private industry, citing a memo written by EPA Region 2 Administrator Pete Lopez, stating: “Steve is an experienced manager with skills in team building, management and organization.”

Glowing language, considering Mr. Kopec is a carpenter who ran a home improvement business out of his garage. It appears that Mr. Kopec’s “true skill” in team-building is cashing-in upon his wife’s relationship with President Trump, whom she used to work for as household staff.

Of course, naked, unrepentant nepotism has had a long and deep run in the Trump White House. In June, Trump appointed Lynne Patton, to head the New York office of the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development. The appointment represented quite the step-up for the former Trump resort party-planner.

We are told not to worry, Mr. Kopec is not writing policy or performing any other task requiring particular qualifications. He is a regular hard-working, dedicated employee according to EPA spokeswoman Liz Bowman, one that makes $66,215.00 along with all the benefits that come with federal employment. Beats running home improvement out of a garage.
