According to The Hollywood Reporter and the Washington Post, Seth MacFarlane is donating $2 million to NPR and $500,000 to L.A.’s NPR membership station, KPCC.

Seth MacFarlane slammed Fox this weekend after Fox News host Tucker Carlson told viewers not to trust other news networks’ coverage.

“In other words, don’t think critically, don’t consult multiple news sources, and in general, don’t use your brain. Just blindly obey Fox News” MacFarlane wrote Saturday in response to this tweet from  CNN’s Brian Stetler.

Director Judd Apatow was inspired by McFarlane’s tweet and soon followed with a call to speak out against Fox.  He said, “I haven’t worked with Fox since 2002. That family promotes evil ideas and greed and corruption. We all choose who to work with. I understand why that is easier for some than others but many powerful people are powerful enough to speak up to their bosses at a moment like this.”

Apatow continued: “[AG Sessions] is a f—ing kidnapper! The Murdoch’s support these policies! Where are the Fox stars and executives speaking up?! Imagine if it was your kids. Who has a movie, TV show, sporting event, news show at Fox? How can you remain silent when they promote these policies?”

He continued to say, “And I haven’t seen one new powerful person who works for or at Fox stand up and say they oppose their support of these cruel policies.  Not one.  Fox is like the NRA to politicians.  If they said this is too far the President would stop this monstrous behavior.”

He then made sure everyone understood he was talking about speaking against Fox creator, Rupert Murdoch.  “If EVERY Fox Star and show runner said this policy was evil and protested to the Murdoch family it would make a huge difference in this national debate.”

After that, the ball kept rolling.  Modern Family co-showrunner Steve Levitan, tweeted, “Let me officially join @SethMacFarlane in saying I’m disgusted to work at a company that has anything whatsoever to do with @FoxNews. This bullshit is the opposite of what #ModernFamily stands for.”

And then Director Paul Feig shared Levitan’s tweet and joined in, “I have made two films for 20th Century Fox and love the people in the movie and TV divisions. But I too cannot condone the support their news division promotes toward the immoral and abusive policies and actions taken by this current administration toward immigrant children.”.

Congratulations to those who have taken a stand so far and let’s keep the ball rolling!!

  1. YES, let’s “keep the ball rolling”! EVERYONE should be speaking out this way and the MEDIA with all its problems also needs to solidly join the fracas and not forget to damn Fox for it “news” reports of lies and misinformation and putrid support for this action and many others!
I’d join the boycott Fox, but I already have them set in .htaccess to NEVER appear on my screen! I did that back before tRump even announced running for the prezidency but was killing any businesses that dared go against him. Just look at his bankruptcy record, claiming bankruptcy when in fact he had a LOT of money stashed in a LOT of different places!
