“I don’t have an attorney general, it’s very sad.”

President Donald Trump Sept 2018

Trump appears to believe that “sad” equates to anything that doesn’t go his way entirely, because there’s nothing sad about Jeff Sessions being attorney general except to the millions of minorities and immigrants who suffer from Sessions’ policies. What Donald Trump perceives as sad is the fact that Sessions will not go out of his way to this day to protect Donald Trump from himself. That, Trump believes, is “sad.” It is not, just “justice.”

In a wide ranging interview with The Hill from the oval office, Trump insists it isn’t just that, even though it most certainly is:

“I’m so sad over Jeff Sessions because he came to me. He was the first Senator that endorsed me. And he wanted to be Attorney General, and I didn’t see it,” he said.

“And then he went through the nominating process and he did very poorly. I mean, he was mixed up and confused, and people that worked with him for, you know, a long time in the Senate were not nice to him, but he was giving very confusing answers. Answers that should have been easily answered. And that was a rough time for him.”

Okay, that might be the first true thing Trump has said yet. It should have been easy to answer the Senate’s questions. Answers like; “Why yes, I met with Russians all the time, they kept asking ‘Vwhat are you prepaared to do for Comrade Putin in exchange for us rubbing out so many Hillavry votes, mmm?'” Sessions could say; “I honestly didn’t know what to tell them. Fortunately, my friend Donald Trump always took them into a room by himself to work out those details. I know it went well because Trump stopped sweating so much afterward, and the Russians kept laughing, saying; ‘See, it is so easy.'”

That should have spring to comrade Jeff’s mind. But it didn’t. In fact, he lied his ass off about not having any Russian contacts, and thus he recused himself.

“Were not very nice to him.” Presumably this means the Senate asked those questions about Russian contacts, whereas if everyone would just “be nice” (to Trump) and throw the laws out the window, we’d have a ‘nice” dictatorship where Hillary and Obama would be in jail for daring to oppose dear leader.

It is tough to believe that Sessions is still attorney general, and actually, let’s give the guy a bit of credit here. It would have been all too easy to quit, give it an old-school Alabama send off, an “F-you” in drawl, get out of the spotlight. Of course, the Senate promised Trump that if he did fire Sessions, the Senate would not be very nice to Trump by assuring him they wouldn’t approve another nominee. That would leave my man Rod Rosenstein in charge.

Anyway, after a bout of truth, Trump naturally fell back into lying:

“He gets in and probably because of the experience that he had going through the nominating when somebody asked him the first question about Hillary Clinton or something he said ‘I recuse myself, I recuse myself,’”

“He gets in and probably because of the experience that he had going through the nominating when somebody asked him the first question about Hillary Clinton or something he said ‘I recuse myself, I recuse myself,’”

Trump goes on to say how disappointed he is with Sessions, so very disappointed. Ever notice that Trump is very disappointed with all but the three remaining employees in the White House? Trump expects total loyalty to him, yet will not show any at all to anyone with the possible exception of his kids, and even those would probably go over the bow if really needed.

Anyhoo, another day, another Trump whine. It gets tired dealing with this snowflake. For a guy who trumpets being a “man” about things and how tough he is, he sure is the first to complain about any …felony charges brought to bear by his behavior.
