Romney’s On Board, Now We’re Moving

Mitt Romney just formally announced via a spokesperson that he will be voting to hear more evidence and witnesses. This is significant. First of all, Romney is virtually bullet proof in Utah, so he has the luxury of doing what he wants. Secondly, and more importantly, he never goes out on the ice unless he’s got backing. He’s not an innovator, he’s always been a follower. So him doing this, is possibly the tip of an anti-Trump iceberg among Senate Republicans — and high time we’re seeing it. The Hill:

As Romney “has said, he wants to hear from Ambassador Bolton, and he will vote in favor of the motion today to consider witnesses,” Johnson tweeted on Friday.

Romney was widely expected to vote in favor of calling witnesses after emerging as the most vocal GOP senator in favor of hearing new testimony as part of Trump’s trial.

He also made the case during a closed-door lunch this week urging his colleagues to back hearing from Bolton after The New York Times reported that he will claim in his forthcoming memoir that President Trump tied Ukraine aid to the country announcing investigations into Democrats.

There’s another aspect to this that needs to be looked at. Protesters are lining the streets of Washington, as we speak, demanding that the Senate do it’s job. That’s not something that even this group of the uber obtuse can ignore. It’s right in their faces.

People are polling at 75% for witnesses and evidence, people are in the streets, people are getting arrested. We haven’t seen this level of organized protest since Vietnam provoked it in the sixties. This is not to be minimized.

Let’s see what Romney has up his sleeve. This is going to get interesting.

Peace out, as we used to say back in the day. Damn, where’s my peace sign necklace and my headband? I feel the need to put some flowers in my hair. I sense that a chord has been struck in America, such that even Mitt Romney and Susan Collins can hear it, and I feel hope overcoming my cynicism for the first time in a long time. In any event, I’m not giving up until the bitter end and don’t you either. Don’t touch that dial.

Too bad the cowards on the GOP side have lost any sense of responsibility and integrity, including Cory Garner of Colorado. He is a real piece of work, controlled by enemies of democracy, foreign and domestic.

I believe that one ☝️ person that you need to look at is Marsha Blackburn! In USA Today she says she would not be ‘useful contrarian’ in trump impeachment trial. Did not know what that word meant, so I looked it up. Internet ever useful. And I think she’s right. She’s put herself at the front of the line in the trump / McConnell asskissing line. So no sh is not a contrarian! Pucker up baby, see if trump had Big Mac’s last night! Hope he let’s a nice wet fart as you get your lips 👄 on the hole!
