Prof who predicted 7 of last 8 presidential elections says latest Fox poll is ‘bad news’ for Trump

When political maven and American University history professor Allan Lichtman predicted Donald Trump would win the 2016 election, I laughed … nervously.  When it turned out he’d been right, I wanted to crawl into a hole and die.

When he predicted Trump would be impeached, I was ready to stick my head out of that hole just a smidge, like a diffident prairie dog.

Now? I’m ready to throw off my self-imposed dungeon shackles and start strumming his tune.

Granted, Lichtman isn’t exactly making a prediction here, but such a blunt assessment from a guy who’s proven himself so savvy can’t bode well for the ocher abomination.

The gist of the poll? Trump lags behind every single one of his potential 2020 Democratic opponents. Joe Biden and Mike Bloomberg both lead him by 8 points, Bernie Sanders by 7, Elizabeth Warren and Pete Buttigieg by 3, and Amy Klobuchar by 1. In a Fox News poll. And if current coronavirus infection rates hold, either Diamond or Silk will likely get the virus, so his grassroots support is liable to flag ever more.

So, things are not looking up for Suck l’Orange.

Enjoy your weekend.

Well my reaction to trump Presidency was at 63 years of age I registered to vote for first time. And this is no easy matter as I grew up in Madison County, Il. Part of the Democratic machine that rivals Chicago. That said, I was looking at the field and wondering. But after this week, we could put up a scarecrow on Tuesday and it would be a landslide. That said I do hope the candidates don’t muck it up with their essential we eat our young infighting and pick up the dam banner and show a unified field to… Read more »
