George Papadopoulos, the foreign policy advisor for the Trump campaign, secretly pleaded guilty to charges listed in a document that’s just been unsealed.
Basically, when the FBI came asking questions about Russia and the Trump campaign colluding, he lied through his teeth.
This document contains admissions of guilt in concealing meetings between members of the Trump campaign and Russian officials, and in fact even trying to arrange a trip to Russia BY TRUMP HIMSELF.
This discredits any and all efforts by Trump, White House staff, Fox and the other Trumpaganda outlets, the Trumpcult on social media, hordes of Russians bots or anyone to say that Mueller’s investigation is unrelated to Trump-Russia collusion.
And it’s put Trump’s name itself into the process publicly.
See Trump adviser George Papadopolous pleads guilty to lying to the FBI about Trump–Russia contacts for more of what this means.
Things just got a lot more real.
Let me do a bit of a correction: A singing canary.
There might be more!
Now I’ve got your eyeballs: those who are concerned about Mike Pence becoming President if Trump gets impeached might want to remember that Paul Manafort orchestrated his addition to the ticket. Pence is Manafort’s man. He headed up the transition, during which much collusion must have taken place.
This hits Jeff Sessions too.
Per Washington Post, emphasis added:
For the first time, Trump also listed members of a team chaired by Sen. Jeff Sessions (R-Ala.) that is counseling him on foreign affairs and helping to shape his policies: Keith Kellogg, Carter Page, George Papadopoulos, Walid Phares and Joseph E. Schmitz.
