While I don’t want to comment about Pakistan’s contribution to the US as a former ally, a president of any country should think before speaking out publicly. But with Trump as the POTUS, we have simply stopped expecting anything.
He tweeted this crap in the morning:
The United States has foolishly given Pakistan more than 33 billion dollars in aid over the last 15 years, and they have given us nothing but lies & deceit, thinking of our leaders as fools. They give safe haven to the terrorists we hunt in Afghanistan, with little help. No more!

Obviously a self respecting country would respond to such a statement. Pakistan’s defense minister tweeted in reply:
Pak as anti-terror ally has given free to US: land & air communication, military bases & intel cooperation that decimated Al-Qaeda over last 16yrs, but they have given us nothing but invective & mistrust. They overlook cross-border safe havens of terrorists who murder Pakistanis.

It would be hard to explain people abroad that Trump does not represent the majority of us Americans. Hope by the time he leaves, we are left with at least some reputation.
