A self-described white nationalist has been arrested after threatening the Youngstown, Ohio Jewish Community Center. WFMJ has the details on the arrest of James Reardon, Jr.:
A video allegedly posted by the 20-year-old New Middletown resident on July 11 on Instagram, shows him firing multiple rounds, which is legal. The caption under the post led to his arrest. It said, “Police identified the Youngstown Jewish Family Community shooter as white nationalist Seamus O’Reardon.”
New Middletown’s police chief tells us I-R-A Seamus was the online pseudonym for James Patrick Reardon.
New Middletown Police Chief Vince D’egidio said, “He was implying that he was going to be identified as the shooter of the Jewish Center. That kicked off a very intensive investigation, a very rapidly evolving investigation.”
Law enforcement searched his home and found a large weapons cache of multiple semi-automatic weapons, ammunition and body armor.
James Reardon, Jr. was one of the attendees of the Unite the Right rally in Charlottesville, Virginia, where rally-goers marched through the streets chanting “Jews will not replace us!” He’s been charged with telecommunications harassment and aggravated menacing and is being held in the Mahoning County Jail on $250,000 bond with a court hearing planned for Monday morning.
Only a week ago, law enforcement arrested another Ohio man for threatening federal agents. 18-year-old Justin Olsen was arrested at his father’s home, where authorities discovered a large number of semi-automatic weapons, body armor and more than 10,000 rounds of ammunition.
We are in a national crisis and white nationalism is a domestic terror threat to us all.
