What do you know? Mitch McConnell had contacts on the inside when the Russian Aluminum Oligarch made his high-pressure pitch for setting up shop in America. In Mitch’s backyard to be exact. Surprise!
Ex-McConnell staffers lobbied on Russian-backed Kentucky project
Two former top staffers to Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell have lobbied Congress and the Treasury Department on the development of a new Kentucky aluminum mill backed by the Russian aluminum giant Rusal, according to a new lobbying disclosure.
The disclosure comes as Democrats are pushing the Trump administration to review Rusal’s $200 million investment in the Kentucky project — concerned that the mill will supply the Defense Department — and as McConnell weathers criticism for helping block a congressional effort to stop the investment.
Treasury Secretary Steve Mnuchin announced in December that the department would lift the sanctions on Deripaska’s companies, which had roiled global aluminum markets, if the oligarch agreed to drastically reduce his stake in the businesses. The deal was reportedly potentially beneficial to Deripaska, however. Deripaska himself still remains under U.S. sanctions.
Attention over the sanctions relief deal has focused on McConnell, given his role in halting a bipartisan congressional effort to stop the penalties rollback. McConnell told reporters in May that his support for lifting the sanctions was “completely unrelated to anything that might happen in my home state.”
And that wasn’t the first time Moscow Mitch turned a blind eye to democracy, to keep Vladimir Putin rolling in “active measures” … Talk about Democracy being “for sale” to the lowest bidder …
Great going MM. So MAGA really means “great for Russian”, then huh?
‘Moscow Mitch,’ the other useful idiot

So here is the question we should be focused on now: Why is Mitch McConnell sitting on bills to fortify our defenses?
Now McConnell says he is blocking the mostly bipartisan security measures to safeguard our elections because Democrats are trying to give themselves a “political benefit.” That’s rich.
These are bills to require candidates to notify the FBI if a foreign entity offers help, mandate the use of paper ballots or better fund the Election Assistance Commission. Hardly partisan stuff.
Like Oleg Deripaska, the Kremlin ally behind the world’s second-largest aluminum company, called Rusal. The Treasury Department accused this tycoon of aiding Russia’s misdeeds, and put sanctions on him and his company as punishment for the hacking of our 2016 election.
But McConnell put the kibosh on that resistance, and sided with Deripaska’s campaign to keep the money rolling in.
But whether he was moved by the generosity of rich Russians, or the voting machine lobbyists who oppose creating paper trails for digital election systems, the end result is the same: He is doing Putin’s bidding.
Thus the well-earned moniker, that McConnell detests as much as ‘allowing Bills to have an Up or Down Vote.’ You know, kind of like What ‘Democracy’ demands.
Mitch much prefers to work in the shadows. This unwelcomed spot-light on his Russian favoritism — just might spoil the sweet stonewalling gig he’s got going … 569 Bills blocked, to be exact, and counting.
ALL this publicity on his MoscowMitch activities just might get him booted out of office.
Hey Mitch, Putin’s always got a comrades relocation plan, in case your anti-American stonewalling, gets too hot for you, doing The Donald’s work for him, in Trump’s Kitchen.
S A M T, … S R M T … They are SO SMART!
