When William Barr was first nominated he said,
“The attorney general’s balls are in the deputy attorney general’s pocket, and I’m not putting my balls in anyone’s pocket I don’t know,” Barr recalled saying in a 2001 interview with the Miller Center of Public Affairs at the University of Virginia.
Jeffrey Rosen, presently Deputy Secretary for the Department of Transportation, was a senior partner at Kirkland Ellis, where William Barr used to practice. So, apparently, Barr’s threshold requirement of having a deputy he knows has been met.
Wonder if Rosen thinks the Mueller investigation is a “witch hunt” that is “totally conflicted, illegal and rigged!” like Trump does? Guess we’re gonna find out.
