From ABC News:
Federal agents searched the Virginia home of former Trump Justice Department official Jeffrey Clark on Wednesday morning, according to multiple sources with direct knowledge of the activity.
It was unclear which federal agencies conducted the search, but one neighbor who witnessed the law enforcement activity said they saw FBI agents entering and exiting the Lorton, Virginia, home after arriving there early Wednesday.
A spokesperson for the U.S. Attorney’s Office in Washington, D.C., said they “can confirm there was law enforcement activity in that area yesterday,” but declined to comment on specific individuals or the nature of that activity.
In case you are forgetting who Jeffrey Clark is, here is a brief primer from The Hill:
Jeffrey Clark was a mid-level Justice Department lawyer specializing in environmental law when he became a central part of former President Trump’s plans to oust DOJ leadership who wouldn’t forward baseless investigations into election fraud.
Clark was introduced to Trump by Rep. Scott Perry (R-Pa.) and quickly became a leading advocate for the Justice Department to send a letter to Georgia asking the state to suspend its certification of the 2020 election results pending a DOJ investigation into nonexistent fraud.
“Jeff Clark certainly was advocating for change in leadership that would put him at the top of the Department, and everyone else in the room was advocating against that and talking about what a disaster this would be,” then acting Deputy Attorney General Richard Donoghue said, according to portions of his deposition and others that were released by the committee in a March court filing.
Ken Dilanian is on MSNBC at this very moment, saying this search is an enormous development. And now Joyce Vance, saying how curious it is that this Clark guy had an “inside baseball” plan to turn the 2020 election on its head.
May justice arrive quickly to take down Clark and his master, TFG.
