When the Justice Department watchdog report emerged Monday, it completely obliterated Donald Trump’s favorite fantasies about the “oranges” of the FBI’s Russia investigation. No, the probe wasn’t launched on the back of bias against Trump. It wasn’t a coup. There weren’t scummy “dirty cops.” Trump wasn’t illegally “wire tapped” by President Obama. In fact, the Department of Justice inspector general found the FBI had cause to launch the investigation. Welp, time to change the bookings at factless Fox News!
FYI: I offered to go on Fox & Friends to answer all questions. I can’t change their viewers on Donald Trump but hoped to give them some actual facts about the FBI. They booked me for tomorrow at 8 am. They just cancelled. Must have read the report.

In fact, if the Fox bookers were communicating with any real reporters or had even been reading any actual news from any actual news outlets, they would have known the IG report was gonna put a dagger through the heart of Trump’s paranoid claims. Every outlet worth a damn has reported as much over the last several days. But apparently it all came as a giant surprise over at Fox News, which really specializes in spreading Trump-backed conspiracy theories. That’s why polling last week found that 44% of frequent Fox viewers believe Vladimir’s Putin’s propaganda that Ukraine interfered in the 2016 elections. That’s a Russian intelligence fabrication that Trump and numerous Republicans have latched onto and continue to deploy like Putin’s puppets. Fox has trained its viewers to be impervious to facts, therefore it can’t afford to suddenly blow apart the mythical narrative it’s been selling about Trump ever since he set foot in the Oval Office.
UPDATE: Fox is denying it ever booked Comey. Frankly, it’s pretty hard to trust anything Fox says, just like it’s impossible to trust anything the WH says. You don’t get to traffic in misinformation all day and then be taken seriously when you issue a rebuttal.
