After revelations her brother and her husband have been less than truthful in their meetings with foreign officials, House Democrats are now wondering if Ivanka Trump may have also had a faulty memory when it came to meetings. From The Hill:

The lawmakers are asking the FBI to conduct a review of whether President Trump’s older daughter omitted information from her security clearance application when she joined the administration as an unpaid White House adviser.

The security clearance forms ask whether applicants or any member of their immediate families in the past seven years had any contact with a foreign government or its representatives. Deliberately omitting facts can result in up to five years in prison.

Ivanka’s husband, Jared Kushner, recently updated his SF86 security clearance form and suddenly remembered more than 100 foreign contacts that were missing from his original form. House Democrats now want to know if Ivanka Trump might want to amend her own security clearance form. Here is a portion of the letter House Democrats sent to Andrew McCabe, Acting Director of the FBI. First, House Democrats acknowledge the pattern of deception in the Trump administration when it comes to foreign contacts?

“Lack of candor, particularly regarding contacts with Russian officials, has been a significant issue for the Trump administration. We learned last week that Ms. Trump’s husband, Jared Kushner, and brother Donald Trump Jr. met with Russian lawyer Natalia Veselnitskaya and others, including a Russian counter intelligence officer, for the purpose of obtaining damaging information about Hillary Clinton. Mr. Trump Jr. initially denied any such meeting, and no mention of it was made on Mr. Kushner’s initial security clearance questionnaire. Since his first filing, Mr. Kushner has had to update his SF-86 multiple times to reflect over 100 meetings or phone calls, including with Russian Ambassador Sergey Kislyak and Russian banker Sergey Gorkov, according to reports. It was also reported in May that Mr. Kushner met with Kislyak to establish a back channel with the Kremlin.

Next, House Democrats hit the real issue. If her form was accurate and these contacts were listed, that means some in the White House had to have known about the secret meetings with Russia:

We are concerned that Ivanka Trump may have engaged in a similar deception. For example, did she disclose her husband’s meetings with Kislyak and Gorkov? Did she disclose her brother’s and husband’s meeting with Veselnitskaya? Did she accurately disclose her foreign contacts in her initial filing, which reports suggest may be numerous? If in fact she did disclose these meetings, who in the White House knew of Mr. Kushner’s and Mr. Trump Jr.’s multiple contacts with Russian officials before they were made public? And, most importantly, did she discuss any of these meetings with the President, and if so, when?
