As Chuck Grassley started the confirmation process by attempting to re-write of history, and it became clear that the Republicans have every intention of voting to confirm Brett Kavanaugh, Democratic senators of the Judiciary Committee simply started to walk out.

Watch here as they walk out while Grassley is speaking:

The four Democratic senators who walked out were Kamala Harris, Richard Blumenthal, Mazie Hirono and Sheldon Whitehouse.

Hirono said, “I strongly object,” as she walked out “This is just totally ridiculous. What a railroad job.”

Kamala Harris said, “This hearing is a sham and Dr. Ford and the American people deserve better.”

Harris continued at a press conference, which occurred simultaneously with the confirmation proceedings, by saying “This is about raw power… It has been pushing and pushing and ramming this thing through because they have the power, as opposed to the integrity to say, let the American people know.”

Repugs are all about abusing power at every opportunity. Given Kavanaugh’s performance as well as Grassley’s and McConnel’s urgency to defraud the public with an unvented candidate for SCOTUS, this is shaping up to be yet another gang rape of the American people.
