In virtual admission of guilt, White House signals it won’t defend Trump against impeachment

After weeks of persistent Republican complaints that the White House was being blocked from defending Donald Trump in the House impeachment inquiry, the White House has apparently decided to take a hard pass on...

Trump calls for review of water efficiency standards, saying people flush the toilet '10 times, 15 times'.   Like not understanding the difference between climate and weather, Trump wants water supplies deregulated because he has...

Trump Runs On About Light Bulbs, Toilets and Rain in Rant That Is Absurd...

Donald Trump is not having a good day. He tweeted earlier about some statutory right he has to send troops across the Mexican border to get rid of cartels, but said that he wouldn’t do that just yet, (we imagine the Mexicans are relieved) then he demanded that CNN retract it’s story about him making calls from an unsecured personal cell phone. But the zenith of the day was reached when he started talking about light bulbs and toilets. This is a peek into Donald Trump’s mental landscape, and it makes Salvadore Dali’s paintings look mundane by comparison. RawStory: The light bulb — they got rid of the light bulb that people got used to. The new bulb is many times more expensive and — I hate to say it — it doesn’t make you look as good. Of course, being a vain person, that’s very important to me. It’s like — it gives you an orange look. I don’t want an orange look. Has anyone noticed that? So we’ll have to change those bulbs in at least a couple rooms where I am in the White House. … We have a situation where we’re looking very strongly at sinks and showers. And other elements of bathrooms — where you turn the faucet on, in areas where there’s tremendous amounts of water, where the water rushes out to sea because you could never handle it — and you don’t get any water. You turn on the faucet and you don’t get any water. They take a shower and water comes dripping out, just dripping out, very quietly, dripping out. People are flushing toilets 10 times, 15 times, as opposed to once. They end up using more water. So EPA is looking at that very strongly, at my suggestion. You go into a new building, or a new house or a new home, and they have standards where you don’t get water. You can’t wash your hands practically, so little water comes out of the faucet. And the end result is you leave the faucet on and it takes you much longer to wash your hands. .. For the most part. you have many states where they have so much water, it comes down — it’s called rain. They don’t know what to do with it. … A lot of things we do are based on common sense. If I didn’t get elected you wouldn’t have a steel industry. … We weren’t going to have a steel industry. A reporter explained that Trump was attempting to discourse on low-flush toilets. How that came out of a comment on light bulbs and then devolved into a diatribe on hand washing, rain, and the steel industry is probably more appropriately the purview of the psychiatric community rather then the press. My take on the hand washing, toilet flushing manic comments was that Trump is like Lady Macbeth. Remember, how she would ring her hands and cry, “Out out damn spot,” and declaim, “Who knew that the old man had so much blood in him?” That was an expression of her guilt and paranoia. Likewise, germaphobe Trump knows that he’s dirty and he can’t cope with his need to get clean or make all the shit go away, so he rants about how the faucets don’t work […]

Trump Fears His Staff, Not Dictators, So He Uses Unsecured Personal Phone

Having done two blurbs today, I am hesitant to write another, but I cannot let this go without sending it to a wider audience. A new WaPo story framed by George Conway in a tweet sums up Trump’s dynamic in a devastatingly thunderous way. So @realDonaldTrump has no problem with hostile foreign intelligence services listening to his calls, but fears having his aides know who he’s even talking to. https://t.co/7mmEeVKyPQ — George Conway (@gtconway3d) December 6, 2019 Trump is not afraid of foreign dictators learning what he is discussing, but he’s terrified his staff might hear his conversations? The conclusion is obvious. The only possible reason for this practice is that Trump is regularly doing favors for foreign leaders, action that must be kept from staff. Moreover, one might note that the dictators could expose Trump’s crimes, but evidently that doesn’t scare Trump. The only takeaway is that Trump must be must be giving them what they want! Trump IS afraid of Americans exposing him, so he must be doing things WE, and even his staff, don’t want. Holy shit. Framed in such a light it sends shivers down one’s spine. Trump is hiding from Americans because he’s against American interests. He is fine with Erdogan and Putin learning all his secrets. Trump KNOWS that those leaders won’t bribe or blackmail him. If they DO blackmail him, he must be fine with knowing he can deliver. The ONE thing of which Trump is most certainly not fine is Americans learning of his actions with foreign leaders. Evidently Trump cannot deliver if called out by Americans. I don’t see how there is another takeaway. Trump fears staff action on his private calls more than a brutal dictator’s action on his private calls. Oh, and the other thing it says, is that Trump doesn’t care about American foreign interests. After all, Putin hears every conversation. Thus Erdogan and others have all they ever need to bribe or blackmail Trump. But Trump is evidently willing to trade Erdogan’s demands or American demands. Never ever forget, Trump comes first, always. And even though we certainly knew that, hearing it framed in this context and this way just thunders through a person. He will never, ever, put American interests first if it might cost him personally. Never. Oh, and as if that’s not bad enough, he’s the first president in ages that never dropped all his conflicts, and kept them secret. The perfect storm. UPDATE: This also states a truth that is tough to take: Almost every paragraph of this piece has something jaw-dropping in it. But one big takeaway is that Putin probably knows more about the Trump-Giuliani-Ukraine scheme than Congressional investigators do. https://t.co/Nyd1gBGz2d — Ryan Lizza (@RyanLizza) December 6, 2019 **** Peace, y’all Jason jmiciak@yahoo.com and Twitter @MiciakZoom
