In an interview with CNN, as reported in The Washington Post, Breyer is “relishing his role as the senior liberal on the bench” and has hired a full set of law clerks for the next term, which suggests he plans to stay through at least June 2022. And of course, the 2022 mid-terms could change the balance of the Senate, with the possibility of it reverting to GOP control. Breyer’s interview doesn’t bode well at this point…
