Elie Mystal if the Editor of the Above The Law Blog. “This afternoon, Donald Trump is expected to announce that he will take illegal action to force a citizenship question on the 2020 Census, in defiance of a Supreme Court order for additional litigation on the issue. For a president who has often hinted that he would ignore court orders he didn’t like, this will be his first action directly in violation of the legal limitations of his office. It’s a constitutional crisis, because one branch of our government is defying another branch of our government. But it’s also something Trump has trained people to expect and accept. Trump and his administration have violated Constitutional norms since the moment they’ve taken office. The Republicans slavishly support him and the media, for the most part, parrots his message. You’ll see it today, as many reports will pretend there is some “confusion” about Trump’s power, as opposed to accurately reporting that he’s violating a court order just as surely as a person who jumps bail. On the other side of the ball, establishment Democrats are sure to be as bumfuzzled as ever by this latest presidential wedgie to the rule of law. We’ll get press conferences and speeches. Promises to “fight,” even though Trump’s open defiance of the Supreme Court should tell us just how little paper laws mean to him. Eventually they’ll throw up their hands, blame women of color for being too mouthy about it all, and move onto Infrastructure Week. The order to include a citizenship question on the Census is an illegal order. Those who follow it should be arrested. Those who promulgate it should be arrested. The document itself should have no legal relevance — it’s now no more actionable than a BuzzFeed poll. The real Census will be coming late this cycle, based on the executive branch’s refusal to issue a legal document. The man who ordered the taking of an illegal Census should be impeached for his attempt to usurp the rule of law, in violation of his oath of office.” I wish leadership would do something and surprise me, but I am past all hope of that. This is just a heart rending story. Courthouse News WASHINGTON (CN) – Yazmin Juarez’s 19-month-old daughter died after getting sick following her stay at an unsanitary immigration detention center in Texas. She told lawmakers her story Wednesday to shed light on the human toll behind the Trump administration’s immigration policy, leaving few dry eyes in the room. Yazmin and her daughter, Mariee, made the trek from Guatemala to the United States last year. She was fleeing an abusive domestic situation, a scenario that she could not even describe, for her own protection, during a House Oversight subcommittee hearing on inhumane treatment of children at the U.S.-Mexico border. “I was scared. But I made the journey because I feared for her life,” Juarez said in Spanish before a translator relayed the message to a silent group of lawmakers. “I was more scared of what would happen if we stayed. I wanted a new life for my family. Instead I watched my baby girl die slowly and painfully.” Little Mariee was healthy when she and her mother were detained, but became sick after 20 days in detention. 10 days later she had lost 8% of her body weight and was vomiting constantly. Yazmin pleaded for her daughter to be taken out for care, even offering to be handcuffed so she could accompany her. By the time she was taken to the hospital, where a viral lung infection was diagnosed, she was greatly weakened. Doctors fought for 6 weeks to save her but to no avail. “My little girl suffered horrible pain. I couldn’t even hold her to console her. As a mother, I wish I could have taken her place,” Juarez said in tears. Jazmin and Mariee in happier (and healthier) times before they became guest of the DHS: Today Jazmin testified before Congress… …and finally got the reception America should have given her on day one. Sadly, Mariee could not be there. Please follow me on Twitter @durrati
U.S. Soccer team star Megan Rapinoe will not be visiting the Homophobe-In-Chief at the White House but has decided to accept an invitation to visit Congress extended by AOC, Speaker Pelosi and Chuck Schumer. Sports Illustrated WASHINGTON — Megan Rapinoe has accepted an invitation for the U.S. women’s soccer team to celebrate its World Cup victory with a visit to Congress. Rapinoe said Tuesday on CNN that she had accepted invitations from New York Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, Pelosi and Schumer to go to Washington.” Questioned yesterday by Anderson Cooper about the Mango Menace, Rapinoe had this to say: And here she is on The RMS: https://twitter.com/search?q=maddow%20rapinoe&src=typd You go, Megan. And, when you visit, could you give some of your moxie to Chuck and Nancy? They could use some.
The Intercept On March 11, 2019, Epstein got a new shipment from the port in the U.S. Virgin Islands. This time, it was sent to his New York townhouse, and it’s listed in maritime records as a tile and carpet extractor that weighed 191 pounds. William George, an analyst with Import Genius who found the details of the shipments in the company’s database, noted that both shipments could, of course, be entirely unrelated to the alleged crimes and the prosecutions. Indeed, many people own shredders or tile and carpet extractors do not run child sex trafficking rings to service the global elite. Still, the timing could require an explanation from Epstein. He is currently in jail awaiting trial and unavailable for comment. His legal representatives did not respond to a request for comment. Poll Why did Epstein Buy his own Rug Doctor? 1. All those peasants at Trader Joe’s. 2. He spilled a bottle of Chateau Lafite Rothschild 1947 3. Those pesky DNA stains.
(Above:You don’t want none of this, bottle blond.) Kellyanne thought she’d get in on some “democrats in disarray” action. Congresswoman Pressley wasn’t playin’… Ouch. Neosporin might help that burn, Becky, but I’d suggest a doctor visit.
This is despicable and should constitute another crime. So, you see judge, he just had the children get naked and give him a handy. No rape there, why are even here? Jebus. Please follow me on Twitter @durrati

The White House invited frequently anti-Semitic cartoonist Ben Garrison to it’s “Social Media Summit” next Thursday, where Republicans and their camp followers will undoubtedly cry about Social Media sites not giving them sufficient leeway to air their hateful racist and anti-Semitic views. Huffington Post “An artist blasted by the Anti-Defamation League for creating a “blatantly anti-Semitic cartoon” has been invited to the White House by President Donald Trump…. …Trump’s Social Media Summit is expected to address the president’s complaints that social media platforms’ policies against threats and hate speech are blocking conservative voices. Two years ago, Garrison created an inflammatory cartoon depicting Jewish billionaire philanthropist George Soros using puppet strings to control then-Gen. H.R. McMaster, who was serving as Trump’s national security adviser at the time, and retired Gen. David Petraeus. The image was a nod to an anti-Semitic conspiracy theory that a secretive international Jewish cabal controls the world. In the cartoon, Soros is being controlled by a hand labeled the “Rothschilds,” a famous Jewish banking family. Garrison revealed on his website that he was commissioned to create the image by his “good buddy” Mike Cernovich for the right-wing provocateur’s website, which was then attacking McMaster. (The version of the cartoon that Garrison shows on his own site has cropped out the hand of the Rothschilds.) Cernovich, who is characterized by the Southern Poverty Law Center as a misogynistic white nationalist, promulgated the “Pizzagate” conspiracy theory that Hillary Clinton and other prominent Democrats were running a child sex trafficking ring from a Washington pizzeria.” Garrison bragged about his invite on Twitter: Despite Garrison crediting Cernovich as his inspiration for the above cited cartoon, he really needs no urging at all. Some other examples: Nice, “The White Race” depicted with a Swastika armband. Absolutely disgusting — but no surprise, given who resides there — that this piece of shit should dine in our White House on our dime.
Oozing from beneath a sex and cocaine scandal that kept away some of the clown-right’s leading lights – including pizza gate experts Mike Cernovich and Jack Posobiec – assorted grifters of RWNJ faux grievances and half baked conspiracy theories descended dozens strong on Freedom Plaza in D.C. Daily Beast Reporter Will Sommer and some others take us behind the scenes…. Below counter-protesting Antifa activists accuse some cops of being in league with the alt- right. What on earth would make them think that? Proud Boys founder Gavin McInnes had some trouble with handcuffs, which, in an awesome self-own, he put on himself, symbolizing Twitter bans or something… but most of the attendees were just wholesome all American boys: Milo and Laura Loomer stood together in de-platformed solidarity… Until Milo takes the stage to mock her. More on Milo: “Report safe conservatives” I take it, is to urge RWers to report non-violent conservative Tweeters so they can join he and Loomer in their “digital gulag”. Hard to get your McDonalds’ to the gulag w/o Uber Eats I suppose. Hey it could be worse, Laura, you could be banned from Tinder: Well, it sounds like the rally has wrapped up without further incident ( I don’t think i can take anymore, my sides are aching as it is) but you can catch Milo next month Grand Marshalling the …Straight Pride Parade in Boston. Is clownishness a clever tactic of there idiots or just a natural by product of advanced stupidity? The debate rages on.
