(Aaron Rupar is a reporter for Vox.) This is gonna leave a mark. Underwood is a future star. Hell, she’s a present star. Dog pens or cages? Dog pens or cages? Barragan is pissed. Boom. Leave it to Al Green to say what is goin’ on. Thank goodness for the blue wave. And thank you Mr. Rupar for this excellent reporting.
Well, it looks like Michael plans a long visit to the House Intel Committee Hearing… And his attorney is packed too…
If you were hoping to bottom-out in your quest to shovel down to the bottom of GOP asshole-ishness anytime soon all I can say is not today…not today… Crooks & Liars (Via WaPo) “A handful of male lawmakers dressed up for a hearing they presided over Tuesday in the New Hampshire House of Representatives, donning pearl necklaces as activists testified about their experiences with gun violence. Images from the statehouse — where legislators were considering arguments over a bill that would make it easier to take guns away from potentially dangerous people — caromed across social media as critics lobbed accusations of sexism and insensitivity at the necklace-wearing men. The implication was clear, they said: These politicians thought gun-control activists were “clutching their pearls” in overwrought and self-righteous outrage — and, specifically, female outrage. The advocates, who were volunteers with the group Moms Demand Action for Gun Sense in America, said they felt mocked, as if some of the lawmakers were not interested in hearing stories about how gun violence has affected their lives. … The bill, known as a “red flag” law, would allow family members and law enforcement agencies to obtain court orders that restrict gun access for individuals who may pose an immediate risk to themselves or others. If New Hampshire adopts the legislation, it would join 14 states that have done so, many in the wake of deadly mass shootings.” Just one mopre thing guys, you do know it is a major faux pas to wear pearls with other jewelry, excepting of course a beautiful understated an elegant pair of earrings. Assault rifle brooches, Masonic lapel pins and “Lifetime Flunky for The NRA” buttons will only clutter that sophisticated look you are striving for with pearls. And, pro tip guys, always take off one piece of jewelry before leaving the house. (This content was created exclusively for PolitiZoom by Dino Durrati)

As the GOP gaslights Rep. Omar for criticizing the state of Israel for it’s policy positions vis-a-vis its treatment of the Palestinian people, and democrats in the House apparently moving towards condemning her to placate them, Rep. Steve King openly supports an Anti-Semite and White Nationalist for the third time. Huffington Post “For the third time in less than a year, Rep. Steve King (R-Iowa) has promoted an open white nationalist on Twitter. On Friday, the congressman quote-tweeted Faith Goldy, a Canadian white nationalist who has publicly recited the “14 words,” a white supremacist mantra, and who once recommended a book that calls for the “elimination of Jews.” Goldy also once appeared on a podcast produced by The Daily Stormer, a neo-Nazi website which advocates for gassing Jews. In that podcast, Goldy praised white supremacist figurehead Richard Spencer. King is well aware of who Goldy is. In October, he endorsed Goldy in her longshot run for mayor of Toronto. The endorsement led to widespread condemnation of the congressman. But at 10:51 p.m. Friday, the congressman promoted Goldy on Twitter anyway.” And, of course, King’s premise is wrong, immigrants only make up an out sized portion of the prison population because federal authorities choose to persecute them as they allow other crimes to go unpunished, as the Huffpo article points out — prosecutions for white collar crime have dropped by 40% since 2008. Just last October the ADL called for King’s censure for, among other things, promoting Goldy in his Twitter feed: But, of couse, some Dems prefer to eat their own and run interference for the criminal in the Oval office, out of fear of Trump’s base voters who will never be swayed by our actions in any case… Neera and Charles Pierce get this exactly right: Hear, hear, Charlie.
Saturday Night Live had some fun with the Cohen hearing last night and so will you: (Closed Captioned) It started with Kenan Thompson playing Representative Elijah E. Cummings of Maryland, who quipped, “For any other president, this hearing would be the most damning and humiliating moment of their lives, but for Trump, it’s just Wednesday,”. Ben Stiller, as Cohen, credited “the guys who wrote ‘Green Book” for helping with his opening statement before he said: “I know that I was wrong, and I know it, because I got caught.” But the most hilarious part of the skit was the inspired casting of SNL alum Bill Hader as Jim Jordan, who was so angry he “couldn’t even wear a jacket”, tried unsuccessfully to insult Cohen…. “You know something, Mr. Cohen, I’ve never even heard of you!” Hader said. “Your mother has,” Stiller responded. …and kept screwing up his questions, only further incriminating his Fuhrer. Of course the Democratic members of the committee kept yielding their time to Hader/Jordan so he could continue his self immolation, much to his exasperation. But watch it for your self, it’s the bomb!
We all know Ted Lieu’s one of the good guys but he keeps showing us anyway… drumpf is going to hate Ted getting in his pocket, and I expect Kuwait will regret not being able to wine and dine members of the Party in control of the House. Keep sticking it to them, Congressman Lieu, we are behind you!
Sarah Kenzior has the most accurate view of the Trump crime family of anyone in journalism, and she is killing it this morning on AM Joy… The question is, how long will it take politicos in D.C. to wake from their Rip Van Winkle like somnolence and defend our Democracy?
The parents of Otto Warmbier, the young American brutally murdered by the despotic regime of North Korea, issued a brief statement thoroughly repudiating the Orange menance, who could not bring himself to criticize his man crush, Kim Jong Un. Lavish Praise? Like this? I take no joy in pointing out the reporting on this family’s grief. But it must be made known to as many as possible because the liar will doubtless be tweeting that the Warmbiers are supporters of his. Is there no depth drumpf’s supporters will not descend to to avoid admitting that their support for him is a huge historic tragedy? Apparently not.
Just in from The Daily Beast Trump’s money guy is gonna take the hot seat. “The House intelligence community intends to call the Trump Organization’s chief financial officer to testify, The Daily Beast has learned… …The Committee anticipates bringing in Mr. Weisselberg,” a Democratic committee aide told The Daily Beast. Cohen, in marathon testimony to the House Oversight Committee on Wednesday, didn’t directly tie Weisselberg to the Trump camp’s interactions with Russia, the central preoccupation of the House intelligence committee. But Weisselberg is uniquely positioned to address questions about financial transactions or relationships that concern potential foreign leverage over Trump – which new intelligence committee chairman Rep. Adam Schiff (D-Calif.) has indicated for months that he intends to investigate. Trump famously called any effort from Special Counsel Robert Mueller to look into his finances a “red line” that would trigger Mueller’s firing, and Schiff has stepped into the gap.” Not sure why Intel is up first, seems like House Oversight should take the lead. But, whatev, get him sworn in. (This post is exclusive for PolitiZoom by Dino Durrati)
