Rep. Ted Yoho has no business in politics and thank God he says he’s not running for reelection And apparently the fact that he’s not seeking another term gives him a right to act like a rabid cur. Yoho accosted Alexandra Ocasio-Cortez on the steps of the House and called her a fucking bitch. This is not how ladies and gentlemen of Congress used to address one another. This is what goes on in Trump world. The Hill:
Rep. Ted Yoho (R-Fla.) was coming down the steps on the east side of the Capitol on Monday, having just voted, when he approached Ocasio-Cortez, who was ascending into the building to cast a vote of her own.
In a brief but heated exchange, which was overheard by a reporter, Yoho told Ocasio-Cortez she was “disgusting” for recently suggesting that poverty and unemployment are driving a spike in crime in New York City during the coronavirus pandemic.
“You are out of your freaking mind,” Yoho told her.
Ocasio-Cortez shot back, telling Yoho he was being “rude.”
The two then parted ways. Ocasio-Cortez headed into the building, while Yoho, joined by Rep. Roger Williams (R-Texas), began descending toward the House office buildings. A few steps down, Yoho offered a parting thought to no one in particular.
“Fucking bitch,” he said.
I never spoke to Rep. Yoho before he decided to accost me on the steps of the nation’s Capitol yesterday.
Believe it or not, I usually get along fine w/ my GOP colleagues. We know how to check our legislative sparring at the committee door.
But hey, “b*tches” get stuff done. ????????♀️ https://t.co/WlG3xccwR7

Gotta love Republican courage from Rep @RogerWilliamsTX: when he undeniably sees another man engaged in virulent harassment of a young woman, just pretend you never saw it in the most cartoonish manner possible and keep pushing.
(He’s lying, by the way. He joined in w/ Yoho) https://t.co/TAjvXBdd9u

Republicans are profiles in courage, no question about that. And this was not an isolated incident in Congress today — incredibly. Liz Cheney was attacked by Matt Gaetz, and then the rest of the Forever Trump caucus piled on as well.
Things getting HEATED at House GOP conference meeting right now.
Matt Gaetz & Thomas Massie both got on the mics and went after Liz Cheney for backing Massie’s primary opponent, per source in the room.

Reps. Louie Gohmert & Andy Biggs also got on the mics to defend Massie & express their concerns.
Biggs even accused Cheney of undermining their ability to win back the House & said if you don’t have something nice to say about Trump, then don’t say it at all, per source.

Now Jim Jordan is laying into Cheney for all the times she has broke with Trump and started listing them off.
He said it'd be better if their conference chair helped Trump instead of going after him.

Cheney did not back down from confrontation:
She defended Fauci.
She told Gaetz I look forward to seeing ur HBO doc.
She told Massie his issue is w/ Trump, not her.
She told Jordan I look forward to hearing ur comments about being a team player when we’re back in the majority

Two thoughts:
1. It amuses me that Republicans in the House are going after each other like rats in a burlap bag;
2. It distresses me greatly that there is an obvious gender issue going on here. These boys, and I do mean boys, are sick. This is alarming. What is the rationale for this, your party goes out of power and you lose your damn mind? Uhh, guys, you might check the history books. Parties are always going in and out of power, like the pendulum swings. That’s what democracy is all about.
As far as I’m concerned, Yoho can issue a formal apology to Ocasio-Cortez, on the floor of the House and Gaetz and the rest of them need to do the same to Liz Cheney — or face formal proceedings.
Man, they are losing their grip before the election. Maybe they all sense that they’re on their way out, in some kind of a group-mind, racial memory sort of a sense. As one, the biggest losers in the House know that they are not long for this profession.
I do not expect to see it get much better, but I sincerely hope that there isn’t any more of this. This is beyond partisan difference. This behavior is unjustifiable. It is uncivilized, uncouth and low life. As much I get down on Republicans, I am seriously surprised and dismayed to see these displays. I didn’t think it would come to this. But I must say, the parties involved who have taken us down to this level, do not surprise me one iota. And I do not want to know how many sub-basements lower they can go.
The GOP is shattered. That’s the only conclusion to reach. I knew they were intellectually and culturally bankrupt. That’s been obvious for some time. But this level of spiritual bankruptcy, immaturity and lack of common decency is beyond belief. But I guess it does make sense. The fish rots from the head down and look at what they put there; a pussy grabber who’s in charge of the nukes and who brags about passing a cognitive test.

Gross. Glad AOC has the courage to defend herself. I would have been terrified, especially given Texas’s reputation for invoking the 2nd Amendment at any given notice. And Gaetz attacking Liz Cheney? Gaetz is a tool. Liz has more balls than he does and she threw her gay sister under a bus to get elected.
If i ever run into Gaetz, i’ll bitch slap him into next year and gladly do some time.
