Donald Trump was 19 when these landmark bills were passed. His entire political career has been an attempt to undo the landmark civil rights legislation of the 60s, which includes the immigration act that removed the hard racial quotas for immigration which had existed before then.
Calling people who believe in democracy, civil + economic rights, and racial justice “communist” has a long + rich history w/ white supremacy in the US.

Anybody Black advocating equal rights is a "communist" [read: no good nigger] who is a threat to the American way of life [read: white man's country]. They called MLK communist when they weren't calling him Martin Luther Coon.

When the civil rights movement was on the cusp of its most important victory, the 1965 Voting Rights Act, billboards went up across Alabama calling MLK a communist. He’s not fighting you b/c you’re weak @AOC, @AyannaPressley, @IlhanMN & @RashidaTlaib. pic.twitter.com/jgRh9Dc5sh
