After demanding 5 debates, chicken-man Ted Cruz backs out of CNN debate with Beto O’Rourke

Senate candidate Beto O’Rourke and the incumbent—and tragic epilogue to Eddie Munster’s life-story—Ted Cruz, are in the final weeks of their Senate race. During a debate last month, Cruz was exposed for how much of a one-trick pony he is rhetorically, and conversely, how much more appealing O’Rourke can be when he gets to speak with an honest passion. The battle for Cruz’s Senate seat has always been an uphill one, but O’Rourke has made great strides over the past couple of months, due in no small part to grassroots support and inspiring campaign stops. CNN is hosting debates for some of the “highly contested” races. Some debates…and a Town Hall.

CNN Chief Political Correspondent Dana Bash will moderate a live, one-hour town hall with Democratic Rep. Beto O’Rourke, who is running for US Senate, on Thursday, October 18, at 10 p.m. ET/9 p.m. CT at the McAllen Performing Arts Center near the US-Mexico border. GOP Sen. Ted Cruz’s campaign initially accepted CNN’s invitation to participate but later declined, a network official said.

That’s interesting, as it was only a couple of months ago that Ted Cruz demanded Beto O’Rourke debate him five times! The fact of the matter is that Cruz and his people are obviously scared of blowing the small lead that they have right now. The famed Princeton debater, Cruz, will try to not break anything in these final days leading up to the election.

“Chicken Man”? That’s about right, since he didn’t put up to much in defense of his wife, when the crud in the White House insulted her.
