Trump Might Try And Block Comey From Testifying.

Propagandist Kellyanne Conway hinted today that Trump hasn’t decided whether to try and block Comey’s testimony at the Senate hearings next week.

U.S. President Donald Trump will decide whether to invoke his presidential powers to block former FBI Director James Comey from giving congressional testimony next week, White House senior adviser Kellyanne Conway said on Friday.

But asked directly whether Trump would use executive privilege to prevent Comey from speaking with lawmakers, Conway added: “The president will make that decision.”

This one could get very interesting in a hurry.  Comey is a strange character and loves the spotlight more than most recent FBI directors.  So what are some of the possibilities?

Trump declares executive privilege and tries to muzzle Comey.  There are a ton of legal questions about whether this is applicable to a private citizen…  It would go to court immediately and this would be just another bit of circumstantial evidence of obstruction of justice by Trump.

Or maybe Comey would play it to the hilt and simply declare executive privilege does not apply to him.  Now you would have the most watched Senate hearing in history, where Comey could go the extra mile and testify to some really juicy stuff.  But Trump has a classic authoritarian/Putin move that he could make.  How about having Comey arrested?  I know that would be a huge stretch, but we are way beyond the stuff of spy novels now.

But if Trump tries to stop Comey:

If he does it, the flood of leaks will be like nothing we've seen.

Good lord, they really are dumb enough to be considering this.
