NBC is reporting that George Papadopoulos, who the WhiteHouse has described as having an “extremely limited” role, actuallyrepresented the Trump campaign on several occasions, including atthe Republican National Convention in Cleveland. Papadopoulos was amember on a panel about U.S. foreign policy,at the invite of the American Jewish Committee , along with Reps. TomMarino, R-Pa., and Ted Yoho, R-Fla. Senator Bob Corker gave theopening remarks. Of course, all these members of Congress havedownplayed their interactions with Papadopoulos.
NBC is also reporting these additional occasions wherePapadopolous publically represented the Trump campaign:
- In September 2016, he gave an interview as a Trump campaignofficial to the RussianInterfax News Agency, where he was described as one of “Trump‘sforeign political advisors” and said that Trump will “restore thetrust” between the U.S. and Russia.
- In January 2017, he met with Israeli leaders gave aninterview afterward to the Jerusalem Post where he is described as a “TrumpAdvisor”.
- And as previously reported, Papadopoulos attended a meetingwith Trump and his National Security team. Trump posted photos ofthe meeting on Instagram, but he now claims to not remember “muchabout the meeting”.
Not bad world-wide gigs for the “coffee boy”.
