As reported by Rachel Maddow, a Dossier source may have died as a result of providing Christopher Steele information, on Trump’s connections with Russia.
The relevant section of the Fusion GPS sworn testimony by Glenn Simpson, was read by Maddow, from pg 279:
MR. SIMPSON: Yes, but I’m not going to get into sourcing information.MR. FOSTER: So without getting into naming the sources or anything like that, what steps did you take to try to verify their credibility?MR. SIMPSON: I’m going to decline to answer that.MR. FOSTER: Why?MR. LEVY: It’s a voluntary interview, and in addition to that he wants to be very careful to protect his sources. Somebody’s already been killed as a result of the publication of this dossier and no harm should come to anybody related to this honest work.
Maddow posed the question to Adam Schiff, if he knew anymore about this, and was it true that someone has died, providing the Dossier information. Rep. Schiff could not provide anymore background.
Since I recalled reading about that suspicious death at the time, I’ve found the original stories to shed some more light, on the inherent Danger that people have assumed, in trying to do the right thing for Democracy, and for America …
An ex-KGB chief suspected of helping the former MI6 spy Christopher Steele to compile his dossier on Donald Trump may have been murdered by the Kremlin and his death covered up. it has been claimed.
Oleg Erovinkin, a former general in the KGB and its successor the FSB, was found dead in the back of his car in Moscow on Boxing Day in mysterious circumstances.
Erovinkin was a key aide to Igor Sechin, a former deputy prime minister and now head of Rosneft, the state-owned oil company, who is repeatedly named in the dossier.
Could it be that the details of the proposed Rosneft Deal, were only known to a few close associates of Sechin and Putin? Could it be that Oleg Erovinkin paid the ultimate price, for his lack of discretion …
What’s more, several other suspicious Russia Deaths occurred around this time, as highlighted by these 2 startling cases, excerpted below … What was going on in Turkey anyways in these early days (Michael Flynn’s stomping grounds)?

Two more [Russian] diplomats died more clearly violent deaths in the same period: Russia’s Ambassador to Turkey, Andrei Karlov, was assassinated by in Ankara at a photography exhibition on 19 December, and on the same day another diplomat, Petr Polshikov, was shot dead in his Moscow apartment.
Betraying Putin’s interests can be hazardous to your health.
Just ask Christopher Steele who had to “go into hiding” — for assuming the responsibility and obligation of warning another country, not his own, of a ‘possible blackmail’ in progress, from pg 159-160:
He [Steele] thought from his perspective there was an issue — a security issue about whether a presidential candidate was being blackmailed.
From my perspective [Simpson] there was a law enforcement issue about whether there was an illegal conspiracy to violate the campaign laws, and then somewhere in this time the whole issue of hacking has also surfaced.
So he [Steele] proposed to — he said we should tell the FBI, it’s a national security issue.
That’s way more than what your average GOP elected official would have done … indeed way more than they currently are doing, by accusing Christopher Steele of “crimes” against America — with absolutely no evidence. Such obstruction is the exact opposite of Patriotism.
Steele had to take his family into hiding. From the Washington Post, on March 7, 2017:
LONDON — Christopher Steele, the former British spy who went into hiding after he was named as the author of a dossier containing allegations about President Trump, has broken his silence.
Steele and his family went into hiding in mid-January after it was revealed he wrote a 35-page report that alleged Russia has compromising material on Trump.
Trump dismissed the the dossier as “fake news” and called Steele a “failed spy.”
Christopher Steele, Intel-researcher had to take his family into hiding.
While the GOP story-tellers and obstructors, “take their families — on vacation.”
There’s a world of difference in those behavior patterns.
One is helping America out of Patriotic Duty; The others are not.
That thought of protecting this country — has been traded for a Fox News concocted Cover Story of the Week. And the GOP Trump-enablers are out there pedaling it to the confused and gullible.
Simply Disgraceful! Complexly and cynically … much much worse, than that.
