Brett Kavanaugh, in his rant a/k/a opening statement on Thursday afternoon, claimed that he had gotten into Yale without family connections and by hard scholastic work.

I have no connections there. I got there by busting my tail.

Oops, that does not seem to be the case.  His grandfather, Everett Edward Kavanaugh, was a Yale graduate.

Falsus in uno, falsus in omnibus.

  1. It’s always been who you know, who you’re related to, and how much money they have given to those Ivy League schools. Legacy admissions have built college endowments from the beginning. It’s a mixed ethical bag, but without doubt has reenforced social and economic inequality.
