They must know they are absolutely sunk because hours after a federal judge revoked bail for Paul Manafort, Trump’s former campaign chairman, sending him to jail while he awaits trial in two separate cases, Rudy Giuliani spoke with the New York Daily News and said, this whole thing might just go away with the stroke of Donald Trump’s presidential pen.

In one of his most forceful attacks on the special counsel yet, Rudy Giuliani on Friday claimed the Russia investigation could get “cleaned up” with pardons from President Trump in light Paul Manafort being sent to jail.

“When the whole thing is over, things might get cleaned up with some presidential pardons,” the former New York mayor told the Daily News.

What a strange thing to say after CNN reported Michael Cohen is ready to start singing, eh? This seems like an attempt to use the media to tamper with witnesses, just as Paul Manafort was accused of doing in federal court today. A message to Cohen to hang tight, a pardon might be on the way.

Donald Trump believes that he’s untouchable. He believes he has the power to pardon himself and everyone around him. It’s time for Congress to step up and start putting safeguards in place, to begin acting like the check and balance they were intended to be. It is their Constitutional duty. Anything else is dereliction of duty and gross negligence.
