Donald Trump has probably seen the polling, in fact the only polling his handlers likely allow him to see, is the approval people have for him pardoning people of color who have been treated unjustly by America. Understanding that he’s a useless conman otherwise, Trump wants to find ways to make public his only positive deeds as president. The Washington Post reported on Friday that Trump was considering a pardon for legendary activist and boxer Muhammad Ali.
“He was, look, he was not very popular then, certainly his memory is popular now,” Trump told reporters as he prepared to leave the White House on Friday en route to a Group of Seven economic summit in Canada.
Trump said he was thinking “very seriously” about pardoning Ali as well as other “folks that have some sentences that aren’t fair.”
First off, Muhammad Ali was very popular “then.” He just wasn’t popular with bigots like you and your “base.” Why does Muhammad Ali need to be pardoned, you ask? Who the fuck knows? Muhammad Ali’s attorney responded as politely as one can respond to an orange-painted man who is so dumb, his powerful position in the world makes most people question whether or not they are living in a simulation.

“We appreciate President Trump’s sentiment, but a pardon is unnecessary. The U.S. Supreme Court overturned the conviction of Muhammad Ali in a unanimous decision in 1971. There is no conviction from which a pardon is needed.”
Ironically, the Supreme Court put together by Mitch McConnell and Donald Trump wouldn’t unanimously overturn a conviction of anyone named “Muhammad,” in this day and age.
