The kids at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High returned from spring break on Monday morning, and were greeted by the sobering reality of the school shooting era.

Marjory Stoneman Douglas High students received a new school supply when they returned Monday from Spring Break — clear backpacks.

The district provided the backpacks, which were donated, free of charge to students, and they will be the only backpacks allowed at Stoneman Douglas for the time being, officials say.

It’s one of a number of security measures the district has enacted as a result of the Feb. 14 shooting at the school that killed 17. Gov. Rick Scott is providing up to eight Florida Highway Patrol officers to guard the school, and extra Broward Sheriff’s deputies and district police officers are also stationed there.

Additionally, only four entry points were available before 7:45 a.m., and after that time anyone who wants to get in can only do so through the front office.

Delaney Tarr showed what awaited her this morning.

But as we’ve come to expect, these kids found a way to use this situation to take a swipe at the NRA and the politicians who are in their pockets.

Sarah Chadwick and her friends decided to troll Marco Rubio by taking their $1.05 price tags from the March for Our Lives and attaching them to their new backpacks.

Tarr had the same idea.

As did Carmen Lo, who is due to graduate with Tarr and David Hogg in two months.

Lo’s best friend, Carmen Schentrup, was one of the 14 kids who died on Valentine’s Day.

Lauren Hogg, David Hogg’s little sister, threw some shade at the NRA.

While her brother only has to deal with this for another two months, Lauren faces three more years of this.

If we needed to know why these kids are yelling “Never again!” and “We call BS!”, here’s more of your answer.
